    I don't remember doing it at school in the 80s.

    Anyway I enjoyed this, I was wondering though whether it was explained more about the ancestral lands that had been lost (or maybe I wasn't concentrating). But there was a bit of social commentary and it wasn't just battle tactics. I'm very interested in medieval rebellions (Wat Tyler and the two later ones) so it will be interesting how they tie that in to next weeks episode.

    Nice series that was well put together in a basic chronological framework. I wish there had been more on the social aspects of the times, that seemed to become increasingly less prevalent after the first episode. Despite the insistence on it being about the creation of an English identity (the court language would have surely changed eventually anyway, the Black Death was a bigger effect than the war on other matters I'm sure) they did also have to look at the French angle by the end. The programs at least weren't just about kings but about other powerful leaders who took control.
