Enfield, [Norf London, innit], is applying to become the first area in Britain to ban spitting in public, eg on the pavement etc. A local petition gained 3000 votes in favour and [only] 4 against.
I understand that until 1990 it was an offence, but then it was abolished.
So how do you feel about this particular activity and would you support the return of the ban where you live?

No need to spit unless you have swallowed a fly.
Why would you swallow a fly
*shudders*
Even the sight of them on the pavement sometimes makes me retch.
There's just no reason for it is there?
So yeah. Ban it.
I don't why she swallowed a fly
Perhaps she'll die
I don't know why I swallowed a fly,
Perhaps I'll die
Try a spider ...
I went utterly ballistic and gave him a loud and very public roasting about respect and public health, to no avail of course. My wife was trying to pull me away, but I was determined to give this little disrespectful sh!t a piece of my mind.
That won't work. Get a bird on standby and make plans to get a cat.
And the worst thing is when someone walking in front of you decides to lob a great lump of phlegm out to the side. I'm always worried it's going to blow backwards. And seeing it on the ground makes me gag.
It's a shame it even has to be banned.
*hides the dog*
lol
It will however take a rise in TB for it to be outlawed.
I also think fooballers should be banned from doing it as young men of a certain persuasion feel inclined to emulate their heroes.:(
Edit: Just read the article.
Council enforcement officers would be empowered to hand out fixed penalty notices - expected to be around £80 - to anyone caught spitting.
Good luck to them. Who is going to give them £80?
