These are all part of life's mysteries when it comes to the Chawners. Magazines like Closer tend to straddle the line between fact and bullcarp. If someone says something more than once, they accept it as truth. I seriously doubt they employ a fact checker.

Too true. I bet anything you like that it's all bu**shit and neither of them are doing what they said they were. Watched the repeat of Last Chance where Emma goes for the gall bladder 'operation'. It was never seen - funny, that. As for Aud's 'cancer' why would she wait weeks for the results if it was?

I bet when the cameras aren't there, they cook up all kinds of truth stretching and exaggerations between them.

They are liars, pure and simple. They are liars about every area of their lives, and everything they say they will do. How stupid do they think the public is? Do they think the public can't do maths and figure out that their weight has gone up, and up , and up, rather than being lost? I love their constant comments, "We want to get healthy...we're doing this for life...." They can't even stay on a diet or change their eating for a day! The sooner this bunch falls off the public-interest-radar the better, although I would miss the train-wreck aspect of seeing what they are up to as I can never believe what my eyes are seeing.

I really hope Closer magazine does a follow up article on the Chawners, revealing the truth behind the bullshit. Like the fact Audrey doesn't have cancer and Emma is no more a qualified hairdresser than I am. An interview with the ex magistrate neighbour would make an interesting read.

Well Phil has posted on the Closer article comments page under the name'leavethemalone'

"Well the comments here are all lies the girls work hard and they pay there way and also the story about canser was not reported fully the facts will come out shortly also the neighbour is full of it magistrate supposed to be trusted no wonder she is retired and the real story here will come out shortly mark my words it wont go un noticed wye do you spend so much time writing bad things about the family i have never meat a nicer bunch of people and also they are trying to turn their lifes around watch this space"

And breathe! If that isn't Phil I'll buy a hat and eat it. More hamfisted attempts to blacken the reputation of the x magistrate as well.

To be fair it is hard to turn their lives around. I mean all they've had is tens of thousands of pounds of one to one specialist help from dieticians, therapists, doctors, dentists and exercise coaches over more than two years. What chance did they have?

It must be one of the Chawners. It has all the marks of a Purple Prince doesn't it? ;)

Of course it's Phil, he always spells 'wye' like the river. That, coupled with the lack of punctuation, is a dead giveaway. He wants to be careful, making further allegations against their neighbour, as well.

I love how someone's posted as Muriel but saying all the things she wouldn't say and with decent spelling and grammar.

Her remarks about Japan and the whales are seriously funny!

Effie123 has certainly put leavethemalone (phil) in his place. :D

Which naughty CofC'ers have been busy then? :D:cool:

I wonder if THEY approached Closer? Or was it their 'agent'? (still amazes me that they have an agent! Why?) or if the magazine actually approached them?

Either way the Chawns just don't seem to get it do they? People know too much about them now, just putting their name into Google brings up a rich supply of material which shows them up for exactly what they are. No one is buying their bullsh!t! How can those girls actually sit there and say that they are eating healthily/sensibly when their bodies tell a different story? Sam's massive weight gain since boot camp speaks for itself and Emma looks as big as her now. Sam goes on 'slimming websites'? Perhaps taking herself to a slimming class might be a bit more beneficial? Mind you, months in America didn't do much good once she got back to Chawner Towers did it?

As for the cancer story? There aren't enough words to say how disgusting that is, it's almost as if they want it to happen  You can tell they've never lived with the disease or they wouldn't be so blasé about it. Since when has Audrey previously beaten breast cancer? Nonsense! A wicked thing in the extreme to lie about. Or are they lying? Let's not forget that these people are as thick as pea soup and are absolutely clueless. If they were light bulbs they'd be about 5 watts each, max! Perhaps they actually think she has cancer because they didn't understand what the health professionals were trying to tell them? Or perhaps Audrey just had a routine breast screening and they're building it up to be something it's not? Either way, their gleeful, almost bragging about it is tasteless in the extreme. They're playing for sympathy because they know they can't get it any other way now

Last Chance did show them going to the hospital, but when they went to 'meet Royalty' (ahem) Phil got the phone call saying Aud could come home that day. If it was a removal of a lump, I'm sure it'd have been more than just day surgery.

I remember that, Sam as in America wasn't she and Phil and Emma looked absolutely crestfallen that Audrey was being allowed home that night when they thought they'd have the house to themselves until the next day! They didn't stay at the hospital or go home while she was having her op but went out enjoying themselves! Horrendous people.

I'm sure it was also said on the programme that whatever it was they had taken had came back clear/or was OK or whatever? Not exactly beating breast cancer is it?! (<- at them not you!)

My mistake - it can be day surgery.

No, you're dead right Lotty, she'd have to have had breast cancer in the first place in order to beat it! My mum died from it and if Aud had seen what she went through, neither she nor Phil would be so glib about claiming to have it.:(

My sincere sympathy Saltydog :( My dad died of cancer too which is why I said that they wouldn't be so blasé if they actually had to live with the disease  Horrendous. I'm trying to tell myself that they're so thick they don't realise that it isn't cancer but let's face it, they lie about everything else don't they so why should this be any different?

    Thanks Lotty. :)

I often wonder what their parents died of.
Perhaps they were told they'd 'gone to a lovely farm in Wales' like you tell kids when their dog has died. :D

:D Wright you are! You're absolutely wright! We believe you and you couldn't be more wright! :D

(I don't believe that is anyone to do with Closer magazine, do you? ;) Or at least I hope not with that level spelling, grammar and punctuation!)

'Kind harted (sic) family'?!?!? Is that when they're bashing seven bells out of each other? Or when Sam's screeching at her mother calling her nasty names before she wallops her one? Or is that when Phil and Emma gang up on Sam because she has a boyfriend, even sneakily reading private text messages? Or is that all the disgusting things that Kim has told this thread about so they no longer have a relationship with their granddaughter? Or when they made their son choose between his partner/daughter or THEM? The the wonderful way Phil was so supportive of his daughter's getting the chance to go to France?

The list of their kind heartedness is endless!

    It's definitely one of them.

They never see themselves as anything less than 'good people', and they're deluded to a fault. Perhaps you should post that on the comments Lotty - it might make them think (if they can get the brain cell they share between the four of them to work!) ;)

I was thinking of them going around the world and eating strange food. can you picture Phil eating tentacles? Surely it's just like a big, rubbery sausage :D Or just pig out a lá Man vs Food. Every time I see that guy, I think of Audrey shovelling cheesy beans into her gub.

The Chawner's attempts to deflect the mountain of criticism coming their way is hilarious. I mean, how on Earth can they think either attempt could possibly work?

Just for Phil, who I am sure still reads this thread here's something for you the next time you try something stupid like this ,,,,.....,,,???!!!!;;;:::: ()()() Don't try to work out how to use them properly just cut and paste them randomly into your next message as the total lack of punctuation is a dead giveaway you're the one behind the keyboard.

Someone has posted on the FB New Zealand page and linked to the Closer piece. Needless to say, they've been told to shut up if they ''can't say anything nice'', but they've come back with a spirited defence!
