The head chef may be the 'last line of defence' against bad(eg undercooked) food reaching the customers, but that still doesn't stop the food being undercooked in the first place. The other cooking staff have to be able to get it right most of the time, without somebody having to watch everything they do.
I watched this last night because there was nothing else on. It's the first time i've watched KN for many years (probably since the first uk series).
Has GR mellowed out in his old age? All these chefs shouting, swearing, fighting and throwing things and he's looking shocked and embarrased. erm, isn't that how he got his reputation?
Can I just ask why Gordon hasn't done a new Uk Kitchen Nightmares in ages?? Its annoying the Uk ones were always more believable and less edited. Plus I could realte more to places im familiar with.
I seem to remember 1 out of 12 resturaunts he visited and "helped" out in the uk version closed within in months , maybe that's why he didn't do anymore
Also he has
The f word
Masterchef
Kitchen nightmares
Hells kitchen
Gordon in India etc so maybe he doesn't have time to do a uk show anymore
Boiling Point
Beyond Boiling Point
Kitchen Nightmares
Hell's Kitchen (UK)
Hell's Kitchen (US)
The F Word
Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares
Gordon Ramsay: Cookalong Live
Gordon's Great Escape
MasterChef (US)
Ramsay's Best Restaurant

Well if only one out of 12 of the restaurants that he visited closed, then I think that you can call that a success, plus by the time that he go to the restaurants, most were on their last legs anyaway.
As for the time, The F word has gone and the terrible series in India was a one-ff i think. honestly i'd like to think nice things about Ramsay because when he wants to he can do decent tv but he seems to be content playing the fool for american bucks.
Im curious of how this goes down in America as there is a lot of swearing that we cant play on normal tele. The editing and playing up is what I dont like about American tele in general and its more pronounced when there is a UK version to compare it to (see One Born Every Minute USA).
Also, does he instruct everyone to call him "Chef" in all his shows. It seems once the cooking starts on all of these shows the owners and head chefs start the "yes, chef!" routine.
I find it annoying how the Americans always refer to chefs as...erm....chef
I mean when they use it as a title. Chef Ramsay.
It may be part of the kitchen routine to refer to the head chef as "chef!" but not for the owners or other non-kitchen staff.
On the other hand though apparently in Germany they use titles for technicians and engineers like we do for doctors etc.
This is the first time i have found Gordan irritating. I understand she is being a bitch too, but he shouted non stop at her while they were having the group discussion.

The mother didn't look too bowled over by the new look of the place.
I thought the restaurant was essentially looked exactly the same..
I know, it nearly brought my dinner back up.
I would have fired that Michael, what a thicko to order all that meat and be head chef but never actually cook anything.
Go veggie I would say.
I'm already a veggie LOL!

Is it do as I say, not as I do with him?
