ONS Survey

I had a letter through to say I had been selected to take part in a survey from the Office of National Statistics, in an envelope marked 'On her Majesty's Service'. Apparently the interviewer, Alan, has invited himself round sometime this week, which is nice of him.

Is this mandatory, like Jury duty is? Or if I ignore them will they go away? I have nothing to hide but Im just not interested in their survey. I cant find an'opt-out' thing anywhere.

Has anyone else had to do this?
