Glad you like Stand & Deliver too. :) AntMusic didn't make no 1 though. :( Mind you, my 2nd favourite Ant song is Young Parisians. ;-)

Hello again. My favourite A&TA's single is Cartrouble.

I will sneak Call Me into next poll and mention it in the intro as to why. Maybe it will pull a few votes. Can't bear The Tide Is High - much prefer Rapture.

I thought Pink Floyd would be walking away with it!

I'm surprised that's done so well too. Shows how much I know!

    The current top three.

    20 - 33.90% - Blondie - Atomic
    18 - 30.51% - ABBA - The Winner Takes It All
    16 - 27.12% - David Bowie - Ashes to Ashes

Atomic, Winner Takes It All and Ashes To Ashes for me. The only ones I don't like there are Kenny Rogers and Barbra Streisand; even Johnny Logan and St Winifred's School Choir are bearable if only for nostalgic reasons. Makes you realise just how much chart music has died a death in recent years.

I might do a poll like this for 1990 the year I was born.

I like most of the songs listed. I eventually selected Atomic, Ashes To Ashes, and Xanadu.

John Lennon - (Just Like) Starting Over
I voted for John Lennon - Starting Over.

The song had only been released before his untimely death in December 1980.
I think he is the first singer I remember hearing had died and I was only 10 at the time

Went with The Winner Takes It All, Ashes To Ashes and Just Like Starting Over.

Geno, Atomic, Xanadu and Use It Up, Wear It Out just missing out.

Thank you. Poll closes Friday so results to be announced, top three songs through to the final, year 1981 to be posted Saturday including Blondie's 'Call Me' - a glaring omission from 1980 poll.

    Excellent news!

Those three are all excellent songs imo. Chart music really was much better back then (imo again, of course).
