Can't say I wouldn't be disapointed if the tubes and buses were not running tomorrow! :D

What about if they switched the internet off for the day, would that bother you?

I've been having various cold-type symptoms all day, including a brain fogginess that makes it difficult to concentrate. If I feel the same tomorrow I won't risk an hour long drive on busy roads, snow or no snow. If I feel well enough I will go to work.

I have been off for 2 days as it is, and I've got a horrible feeling I won't make it tomorrow either. :(

Yes of course. It's only a bit of snow. In winter. Why is everyone so surprised that it's cold in January. For goodness sake why can't people just get on with things?

No snow in Edinburgh, are the Met Office bigging this snow chaos up for a reason?

So far no problems and a light dusting over the nation.

Lets see. 2"-3" of snow versus a Defender. Yep, I'll be going in tomorow.

I hope so. It's a 100 mile round trip through the countryside but hopefully the roads will be well-gritted. I doubt it'll be too deep.

Project deadlines mean I'll be walking to work (should take about an hour or so) unless we are in a serious Snowmageddon situation.

If I don't go in then I don't get paid. The joys of being a freelance Graphic Designer. I rarely miss work, even when it was a 6 hour round trip the last time we had really bad snow, I got in. Usually it's just a 50 minute train journey. Hope it's not too bad otherwise I won't get to see my other half this weekend :(

Probably, although I need internet access for the work I do. Not sure of the relevance? As far as I'm aware the weather does not affect the internet.

Unless it's several foot deep (and we're predicted "light snow" tomorrow), then I'll be at least trying to get in.

Yes. If my train isn't running then I'll drive. It might take me longer but I seriously doubt I'll be genuinely unable to get to work.

Ahhh Sophie, we are all guilty of taking it for granted that we have jobs when some people are struggling in this climate.

How long have you been out of work and what do you do?
