A special thank you to Peeve for organizing it – to Eselle for organizing the flowers and card - to Siriol
and Seren for organizing the visit from Kara and an extra special thanks to Siriol :o
Anam you have an amazing memory – listing all the places we came from. OS and your cucumbers lovely to see you posting again :D:D
I really enjoyed both shows and endorse everything that has already been posted – a cop out I know but as this is the longest post I think I have ever made on here I’m not going to change now am I;)
Now the speculation begins as to who the celebs will be this year on SCD and who they will partner.
Here’s hoping for a good one for Artem. I am looking forward to seeing SC next week .;)
Well I think that’s my quota for now:eek:

Take care all and big hugs.

Well the urge has taken me again. My abject apologies for this being SO long but it does cover 3 shows & 5 days away from home!!

    London Madness

Off to Oxford on Wednesday 19th I went,
    Trundling my little blue case,
    Meeting Eselle there at 3’oclock,
Golly! I’d better quicken my pace!

As I was walking through Oxford,
In the distance I spied a friend,
    Very elegantly I shouted (honestly!)
(My ways I will have to mend!!)

Crazy had come from a meeting,
As I accosted her on the street.
She had seen SC the night before.
    She’d loved Artem’s dancing feet!

    Siriol arrived eventually!!
Into the theatre without a fuss,
    Paps with cameras loitered outside
    Obviously there just for us!

We were there to see Strictly Confidential,
    With Artem our favourite man,
I’d already seen it in Cardiff,
I’m NOT a stalker you understand!!!

Front row seats right in the middle,
We had the most amazing view.
We clapped away to the music,
And chatted – the way you do.

    Suddenly there was a fanfare,
And Camilla arrived in her seat.
We all stood and applauded her.
My, she was in for a treat!

    Lisa opened the show again
With her usual sparkle & glitz,
    Natalie & Ian then appeared
And the theatre began to fizz!

Artem arrived, with his quiet charm
    The audience erupted with glee.
He acknowledged the cheers just for him,
The MOST popular for all to see.

And so the show began with a bang,
The singers & dancers just great.
Lisa & Artem, Ian & Nat,
    All obviously very good mates.

    The musicians were outstanding –
    So versatile and grand,
    The singers setting the atmosphere,
All forming a great little band.

    Lisa’s story was very touching,
    Nat’s & Ian’s really quite funny.
Artem was greeted with the loudest cheers.
(That man is really quite yummy!) ( Sorry John !)

    A kaleidoscope of stunning dancing,
From all who were on that stage,
One highlight for me was Artem in clogs,
    A comedian began to emerge!

    Lisa the consummate “front man”,
Ian, elegant, suave in his stance.
    Natalie beautiful in every guise,
By golly, that girl can dance!

    But Artem was a revelation,
    Composed and full of grace.
Whether serious or having lots of fun,
It was all there in his expressive face.

This show of Craig’s, a brilliant production,
Slick, funny & beautiful to see.
A fabulous night was had by all.
Back to London for Eselle, Siriol and me.

On Friday , fifteen of us met,
You all know who you are.
You’re lovely ladies each & every one.
    Some had travelled far.

    Ireland, Belgium, Scotland & Wales,
    England north and south,
    Meeting old friends, making new,
No one down in the mouth.

Thought Burn The Floor was magnificent,
And Karen the star of the show!
    Her dancing was extraordinary
To see it you all must go!

Her” blindfold” dance was so powerful,
The trust she has in those men!
Hope Grumpy Len goes to see the show,
Then on Strictly she may get a ten!!

Bobby & Kristina, the “stars” of the show,
    Danced their usual flamboyant style.
An energetic show from beginning to end,
A show that just made you smile.

Photos outside, all in good fun,
    Bobby surreptitiously smoking a ****,
Full of his puppy wrecking his sleep,
We mothers got ready to nag!!

Kevin & Karen were a joy to meet,
Appreciative of all that we said,
All the pics that anyone asked for,
Even though they wanted their bed!

So goodnights were said ,until the next day,
When in Café Koha we’d all meet again.
A fabulous night was had by us all,
One to remember again and again.

On Saturday again we all met at 3,
In Café Koha’s room below stairs.
More laughter & new people to meet.
Loud noise, but hey, who cares??

Siriol, Eselle and I had planned
For Kara to join us if she could.
As usual she kept her promise,
Which put everyone in a great mood.

She looked beautiful as only Kara can,
And chatted away to we girls.
When she had to be dragged away,
And left us in a bit of a whirl!

Soon it was time& to the Wyndham’s we went,
To see Kara in her play,
    “Relatively Speaking” with Felicity,
We’d looked forward to this all day.

In row B we sat & had a fabulous view,
The play was an absolute scream.
Laughter immediately the curtain went up,
The four actors a fabulous team.

Ayckbourn’s play is a bit of a gem,
    Everyone had a great time.
Even the man in front with arms folded
Smiled & clapped much of the time!

Felicity played the ditzy wife to a T,
Jonathan Coy the conniving husband, so well,
    Max Bennett the hapless suitor,
    Kara’s Ginny acted perfectly well.

The play with all it’s twists & turns
Was a pure joy to behold.
Taking a little while to unravel,
As the story began to unfold.

As the final curtain call took place,
Our gang stood to applaud the cast,
Kara smiled as she caught our eyes,
And got off the stage pretty fast!

Back at Café Koha we all went,
The waiters knew us quite well ( had a lovely hug off one of them!)
Hot chocolate, coffee & the odd glass of wine,
Came Kara with stories to tell.

She is the most charming of girls,
    Always friendly, natural and kind.
    Answering all our questions galore,
And she never seems to mind.

After spending an hour with us all,
We all said a final goodbye,
Lots of hugs for special folk,
And the odd tear in my eye!

So thank you Peeve for organising our trip,
And Eselle for Kara’s flowers & card,
And to Kara for being just who she is,
Loving her is not very hard.

So thank you to my lovely friend Siriol,
For being such a wonderful pal,
For letting us use your house like a hotel.
And Eselle – you are a great gal!

    Back home in Cardiff reflecting,
I realise how lucky I am
To have such wonderful Kartemite friends
All of us Kara & Artem fans!

Love to all I met at the weekend XXX

PS Please excuse all the mistakes!!

Hello there, re entry from outer space after a very long time since last post:o
Lots of very boring reasons for my absence most of which are now in the past.As a real celebration of my recent retirement from work this week has been second to none.

What a fantasmascrumtiouslywondergorical time we have had
My excitement started on Wednesday when I met Seren and Eselle in Oxford for Strictly Confidential.
Little did we realise when .we set the date that this would be a Gala evening with Royal attendance.
I had been lurking on the thread for some time and had kept way from most of the reports about the show, so had a really open mind about what I was about to see.
Loads has been said about the dances etc. and of course there are those lucky ones yet to get to see the show.
So maybe some personal reflections will suffice.
The buzz in the hall was huge even before anything happened, helped I’m sure by the trumpet fanfare when Camilla arrived into the dress circle.
The music started and from the first notes of the Strictly theme tune I was hooked.
The musicians one minute were on their instruments, next minute singing and in a blink of an eye were seen to be dancing !! Extraordinarily talented.
Our four celebrities shone, each in their own individual ways. Their life stories, music and dance numbers being inter twined a la Craig!. That is one thing to remember throughout this> Craig wrote it all, down to the celebrities’ monologues.
The show really worked .. well it did for me.
Lisa as the compere achieved it in her own inimitable style. and I was really pleasantly surprised at her fluency of presentation, candour and bravery on the topics Craig had worked in to the script for her. Her dancing has really refined, under the guidance of our guru of course
Ian was a happy chappie, elegantly partnering Natalie in many dances, however, somewhat in Artem’s shade where technique and skill was in question…. .
Natalie has the most wonderful style, glorious dresses all contributing to a mesmerising sequence of dances. She has a honed body like no other dancer (Female!!) I have seen and you can really see her commitment to any and every one of the dances she performs.
Artem … fulfilled all expectations and so much more. He is so happy in his skin. So content in his spirit and comfortable on stage whatever he does… dance with the professionals, supporting Lisa and really being very caring of her as well as exhibiting such comic timing and droll presentation when he does his speaking. A true joy to watch on all counts.
As you can tell, I really did enjoy the show, surprised how much I like Lisa and felt that Craig, given that some of the content could have some tweaking, did achieve what he wanted, which was for us to get to know the celebrities as people. The evening was rounded off with a lovely chat with Artem at Stage Door. Hmmmm. Yum!!!

    Second Installement
Seren, Eselle and myself came into London and on Friday joined the Kartemite outing to Burn the Floor. Some very accurate reports on the thread already. Loved the dancing, kept wishing I could see Artem perform though… Karen was certainly up there with her skill, presentation and total gloriousness in all her dances. Strange seeing Giselle in the flesh… could say many things but may be misinterpreted so suffice it to say, a very good dancer, contributes fully to the show …. And that is that.
It is an extremely slick and professional show, so sad that it is closing and that so many empty seats in the back ……..Really glad I caught it before it closes.

    Third Installement
Good to see everyone in Café Koha on Saturday afternoon!!!! Happy, happy times. We were blessed with Kara popping in before the show , lovely to see everyone’s faces… Surprise!!!

I really enjoyed the performance of R S. Honed and raised the game from the performance I saw on a very wet evening in Richmond last Autumn. Kara is very comfortable on stage and into the role, more so than Absent Friends I think. Great wig!
And then of course, she joined us for coffee at Koha after the show.
Peeve… thank you so much for organising us again and Eselle for organising the flowers.

It seems incredible that out of the small beginnigs of two people coming together to learn to dance together on a TV reality programme, such friendships, camaraderie and joy has grown. As I said in café Koha, Kara still cannot believe this has happened and I think after this week she knows us a bit more and we know her a bit more and she does realise that there is still really a lot of love for her as well as a real commitment to support her along the way as well as the fact that it is because of her and Artem that we have got together at all.!!.
Seren, Eselle and I were so glad that we were able to make the ‘surprise’ happen, it was a great week!!!!
Thanks, guys, for all the lovely chats and hugs.
See you at the next one!!!! SiriolXXXXX

PS Seren, again you win the eisteddfod crown for your poetry XX

Seren I am saving your poem and Siriols epic post for later when I am lying in my bunk. I am a bit cream crackered as we were allowed to start painting today, first coat on our bedroom walls.
Can't be bothered to cook so it will have to be Moules and frites.
Really glad weekend went so well and thanks for all the reports

Just bring this over to the new thread. :)

    INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADDING YOUR NAME!!!!!!!

    Either...

Copy and paste the list without using quote. This loses the formatting so you'll have to re-bold the names if you want to be 'tidy'

    or....

quote the last updated list and then remove the square brackets before and aft and any extraneous text. This at least keeps the formatting. You can then add your own name and bold it (if you want).
