HBO do some really high quality TV. A shame British TV channels can't take a leaf out of their book(although I admit the BBC is still quite good, although it needs reforming). ABC seem not that far behind HBO for producing quality stuff. I am looking forward to this show. I hope that HBO can make a Space/Sci fi shop as well.
HBO has CONFIRMED that a Game of Thrones will premiere in the Spring.
One executive at the TCA press tour said that he thought it will premiere March 3rd, though another corrected him and just said "spring." Nonetheless, its looking like March-ish for the launch! Can't wait!!!
Funnily the teaser says "Winter is Coming" which makes me believe the series will premiere in Winter - but hadn't they said it was coming in Spring??
"Winter Is Coming" is a phrase from the book.:D
By the way, have you seen the thread I created for the new Canadian series Lost Girl? You are the DS person who is usually most interested in checking out a new Canadian series.:)
Never read the books so wasn't aware. Thanks for clearing that up for me!
MoreTears - yeah, thanks for the heads up. Have read up on the show, but don't think its my cuppa tea lol. Wasn't into Buffy and it sounds like its targeting that demographic - unfortunately for me Im out of the agre bracket lol
This is my most anticipated show for a long time! It looks like HBO are doing a good job so far, especially with casting, it all seems spot on to me for each role.

Not confirmed yet but it looks like Roy Dotrice has been cast as either Maester Aemon or Maester Pycelle.
Just graduated from MMU Theatre School, John Bradley-West has been cast as Samwell Tarly.
Miltos Yerolemou Is Syrio Forel.
Jamie Sives as Jory Cassel
Ian McElhinney as Ser Barristan the Bold.
Nice! Carcetti as Littlefinger, good casting.

Still some missing such as Tywin and the Old Bear (James Cosmo) and a couple of recastings from the pilot.
Sky have bought the whole HBO catalogue in fact.
I was hoping to see Thrones on the BBC
Other news Roy Dotrice has had to drop out due to health reasons so the role of Pycelle will now be played by Julian Glover.
And hopefully we will get to see it shortly after the US airdate. Something that would not have happened had it stayed with the beeb.

I've always seen Littlefinger as a weasel of a man played by the likes of Brad Dourif or Steve Buscemi

Also theres a few GoT shots in the General HBO Fall 2010/Spring 2011 preview.
Winter is Coming is the tagline for the Series, in the books it is the House Motto of House Stark.
