Can't think of an example where Capital is replacing Heart completely. It is taking over a Heart frequency in part of the North West in one case. But that's only because Heart has moved to a frequency that covers the whole region instead.
To be fair, it is taking over the whole of the former Marcher Group across north wales and Cheshire (but yes, that's only because Heart is moving onto Real's frequencies)
A mate of mine who use to listen to it votes Labour, his cousin who also votes Labour listens to it. The majority of people who live in the northern part of the Dearne Valley are Labour and of course would listen to it.
Also The Guardian which is a left wing paper owned Real Radio.
...
But Ofcom are starting to relax the music formats. It could be UTV might at some stage rollout Juice digitally to more areas (especially as it owns some local DAB muxes) if it feels it would make money as Global and Buaer take more of the youth mearket?
...
I can potentially see the UTV-Bauer muxes getting something based on Juice if they want to better compete with Capital and offer a more comprehensive service, in particular on the Stoke mux which IIRC only currently carries BBC Stoke, Signal 1/2 and Heat. No sign of Capital, Heart, Smooth, Gold, Kerrang, The Hits... it's pretty bare. Smooth UK MAY go on to maintain local coverage when it comes off D1, but that's a long shot...
Certainly having a younger-skewing, more rhythmically-leaning Juice as a sister station to Wave, Pulse, Signal et al could be a workable idea - and if they were to trial it on Stoke, it's close enough to the northwest that they could get away with relaying the Liverpool service, as already on Wrexham/Cheshire DAB, rather than launching a dedicated digital Juice, and that could be a cost saving. Of course, there's nothing to stop them laying down a few links at the Signal studios and dropping these over the Liverpool output for any digital 'Juice Stoke'...
Then again, it's possible UTV and Bauer have a no-compete clause, which prevents, say, The Hits from going on Stoke as it'd compete with the likes of Signal 1 and Pulse, and presumably as Juice is seen as a competitor to Kiss as provided on D1 there's possibly an issue there. But certainly they could probably get away with a Kerrang! or something just to liven Stoke up, at very least...

Currently the Heart and Capital local formats are still based on the several heritage ILR station formats, as digital listening increases and the music formats relax, Capital will probably the be home for the chart show and Heart will get an alternative music show.
I hope so as that chart show seems to be off the Heart format at the moment.

UTV do own (oddly enough) the Scottish muxes, which they could take advantage of, DAB gets as big as FM radio... But I just don't see it happening.. Radio groups are most likely to launch stations on DAB if the station also has an FM output too... Take Global Radio as a fine example with Heart, Capital and XFM Scotland. You wouldn't expect XFM to return to Scotland on DAB only?

Wondering off topic, but XFM London was on DAB before XFM Scotland existed (first time round). Capital had Beat 106 on an English Mux at one point. Putting out of area specialist stations on DAB is a good idea, but it's unlikely they'll be made local (many years ago Heart on DAB in Scotland had local travel inserted, but I doubt they'd bother these days).
I have never got excited about the heart angles! Andrew1973 asked me to let him know next time they are out and about, that's all.
But basically just hearts promotions teams.
Right, well that's set us straight then hasn't it, I wonder how the girls are, I bet they are acute bunch of lasses with some of the men folk round here lusting after them as a reflex action, perhaps...?

It won't fit with the promotion of the station, But you can lust if you want.
Is someone going to tell certain posters it's ANGELS not angles?
I guess I have just done it!
I just found it amusing that Global would be promoting Heart with Angles, being members of a Germanic people, a trick Bauer had clearly missed out on. ;-)

You must elaborate on these "angles" you get so excited about!
Can't get up to Preston! I work in Alderley Edge!
If he does, I think he'll only be obuse about them.

Angles will be out and about Across Scotland so you can win a car ( in 13 locations)

Who are these people and are they listening to the right station?! The DJs speak for about 20 seconds every 20 minutes if you're lucky...
I guess I have just done it!

Do you know where the Heart Angels will be in Yorkshire? Could do with some car stickers.

LOL, love it! Very clever!
I think you missed the whole point of that post (it contains several different types of angles!), it was a pun!
Cheers.
I must admit I did chuckle to myself as I posted it.
You will be able to sleep well tonight now!
