BlueStacks Android Emulator

Stumbled on this a while back, installed it but never played with it - however a new laptop and phone stirred the juices.
I originally got it because there are plenty of Android Apps for which there are no (none or decent) equivalents.
When I'm off out I use Live train time and Live bus times to check all is well.
Tide 7 for drowning
Met office forecast and radar
Marine traffic to see if boat Skipper is out of bed
Ibirds, Birds pro, WP checklist, Moths/Insects/Mammals/Marine/
All sorts of Elecrtonics Apps
Sound meter/FFT/

There's a ton of stuff - it has full Google store - whole things looks exactly like my Nexus 7.

Nearly everything I've tried so far has worked except
BBCplayer thinks I'm in the wrong country - must be fixable
Pinch zoom has to be emulated by keys and some Apps don't work properly.

All very handy - have BlueStacks on my Tower and Laptop and will put it on my work Laptop as I don't have a Tablet there.

Quite remarkable as it's free.

This could be quite handy to have because you can only fit so many on a phone before the ram starts going down.

When I put it on my Laptop Google store came up so I could browse all my Installs/Purchases and get them on BlueStacks - excellent.

When I put it on my Tower I was busy so didn't bother with the Store - later on I went to install some Apps - THERE'S NO STORE ICON !!!

You get a 'search' button under 'recently played' which gets you to the Store but no 'my Apps' - you have to search for every single App by name.

Far easier to uninstall/re-install and use the proper Store front end next time.

But then I installed an App using 'find' and somehow I appeared as logged in and 'my Apps' appeared again - haven't repeated it yet.

Just found out that it runs on Android 2.3 so Chrome probably won't work.

I'll try that as I've set my location to UK already but I suppose it's trying to confirm location by phone or wifi which my PC doesn't have.

Tried more Apps which work nicely.
Transport Apps get my location from Google and work fine.
You can select image size if the default is wrong and rotate vertical Apps.

    Controllers can be selected.

I'm loving it just for the Birding Apps which are not available on PC.

Seems like a million games run on it and everything I've run so far is at good speed.

you should be able to run some android and iOS apps in Windows 10.

In the meantime, chrome has an extension that allows you to run some android apps if you have the APK,
