Had an email just now from lezgmu@info.com

''Microsoft Windows

The license for this copy of the Microsoft Windows has expired. In order to reactivate the license, perform the following:

1. Renew your license

To do so, go to the following page : http://updatelicensewin.com/details.htm

2. Check whether the system date is correct

In some cases the error may be caused by the incorrectly set system date. You can find detailed instructions on how to check whether the system date on your computer is correct in KB3508. If the system date is correct, then try to activate the application once again.

3. Avoid data loss

To avoid data loss update your license as soon as possible. Uninstal program can cause a complete computer crash.

Simplify security management. Centralized and local reporting via the Microsoft & McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) platform provides visibility of infections and content policy violations.

Thanks,

Microsoft Windows ePO.

So the link takes you to a PayPal looking site..litterally a copy of PayPal. where oddly enough none of the clickable buttons work or do anything at all but it will accept your credit card details.

I suggest everyone uses their web browers 'report web forgery' option to shut this one down.

Chrome immediately reports it as a suspected phishing site.

    Blocked already in FF5.

I never noticed the Report Web Forgery thing in FF Menu/Help before.

    Now I know.

The email you received was fake. But just to check to see of your license of Windows is activated do the following:

    1) Hold down start and R
    2) Type: "slui" and hit enter.
    3) In the window that follows, there should be a message that tells you that activation was successful.

I was going to say that "license" is a verb, while the noun is "licence". However, when I looked it up to check it, it seems those damned americans use "license" for both verb and noun.

When are they going to learn to spell correctly ? :)
