I am so glad to hear she is doing okay. I love Betty so much. I hope she's able to make a return, but a recovery is the first priority.

Betty is apparently in good spirits, sounds "as chirpy as ever on the phone" and is fighting like a woman half her age.

Nice to have a bit of uplifting news, and she may leave hospital this weekend :)

That's fantastic news :D So pleased she is recovering :)

she is the reason the soap awards were moved to Manchester, so she could get the lifetime achievement award, she was too frail to travel to London.
Looks like the after party at Bijou will be somewhat duller.

Didn't she get this last year?

Glad to hear she seems to be on the road to recovery :)

I wish Betty (Driver) a speedy and full recovery and a quick return to many more years on Coronation Street.

Paul O'Grady has just announced on his programme Paul O'Grady Live (9pm to 10 pm on ITV 1/ITV 1 HD) that Betty is in hospital.

He asked the audience to join with him in wishing Betty a speedy recovery which they all did.

Paul O'Grady Live can be seen again on ITV 1 +1 from 10 pm to 11 pm tonight. His get well soon wishes for Betty came in the opening part of the programme.

Pneumonia is what old people get just before they die, unfortunately.
