Favourite THIRD albums?
Yes, it's a shameless continuation of the "favourite second albums" thread, but whilst I was picking my best of those I got thinking how many of my favourite albums were third albums which despite many attempts these bands have (imo) never bettered:
Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast
Def Leppard - Pyromania
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet

Here come the Gaga stans. Technically, thats not a third album, as The Fame Monster was an EP, but okay, if you wish, put that.
Quote Wiki: "Born This Way is the second studio album"
I'm going to say, Trip the Light Fantastic by Sophie Ellis Bextor, her best album so far. And also Agnes - Dance Love Pop.
Yeah, I suppose you're right and I had a sneaking suspicion that somebody might highlight this. The only reason I put it as the third is because many people (including Lady Gaga herself) consider The Fame and The Fame Mons†er as two separate pieces of music. And who am I to disagree with Mo†her Mons†er!
However, your point is valid!
Queen - Sheer Heart Attack
Human League - Dare
Nelly Furtado - Loose
Destiny's child - Survivor
Body Talk is brilliant, but I think its Robyn's fifth album isn't it?
