For me it's got to be Lynsey's murder in Hollyoaks. It wasn't revealed before hand that the actress was leaving so it was a massive shock!

I think since this though, Hollyoaks have totally overdone the OMG moments. It feels like there's one every week now and they lose their impact a bit.

    I was shocked at that

This ruins it now as we can't help our selves :)

Phil slapping Sharon and Ronnie stealing a baby, when Phil slapped Sharon I don't think I ever read spoilers back then.

Michelle being pregnant by Grant..she loathed the man.
Sonia giving birth...I had no idea that was coming.
Darren being Heather's baby father...no way in hell.
Stacey being Archie's killer, it made no sense, it just wasn't in her nature.

Tbh, even though looking back it's so low key, Jane's return in EE.

Dee's death in Neighbours - never expected that!!

Lynsey's murder in Hollyoaks - a huge shock and there were no spoilers for this.

    Lynsey's death.

But unfortunately Hollyoaks has decided they don't need to tell stories, they can just shove in a shock and that'll satisfy the audience.

I really think there have been better omg moments than Hayley dying in Corrie lolly

I think Sharon returning in the 20th anni episode of EastEnders was a corker

Definitley Lynsey's murder it was a complete shoch and I do have to agree Hollyoaks keep trying more and more shocks they are normally predictable (Claire is Fraze's daughter) or nothing comes out of it. (Sandy being Darren's mum)

Emmerdale - Rishi saying he was Archie's father. I thought it was a bit daft but it was certainly an 'OMG' moment for me!

But the OP is asking for OMG moments not storylines. Everyone knew she was going to die and how she was going to die so to me her death wasn't an OMG moment. In fact I thought 'is that it?'

    HO
    Lindsey death
Nialls reflection on the ambulance's door, I thought he had died in the church
Justin pushing Clare, didn't ever think it was him
Clare walking in the airport, I thought she had drowned
Not knowing whether Brendan had died (loft balcony/exit)
    Riley's death

I'm not a massive fan of OMGs really. But I adored the Lynsey murder on Hollyoaks, it was brilliant, and there were a couple of others related to Silas.

One was when he killed India, even though I knew it was going to happen, and then turned up at the pub dressed as Santa and turned out to be Heidi Costello's Dad. The other was when he killed Rae during Later. Both genuinely chilling, shocking moments.

Do you also only turn your TV on at 7:30 and turn it off at 8:00 considering that Hayley's death was well publicised in the Corrie adverts leading up to it?

I'd concur abou Lynsey's death, also the bus crash deaths particularly Maddie's.

    More HO
    Louise's exit
Agree about Maddie's death and Silas strangling Ray.
