    Here's a good on for y'all....
    Stomp - Steps.

Steps had lots of hits but few #1 singles. Stomp was one of them.
I doubt many consider it to be one of their greatest hits....if they remember it at all:blush:

Spacedust and the gym video ;-)

    Babylon Zoo - Spaceman
Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You ..... there was a mix that featured Madonna's Holiday in same year this came out (did not get much airplay but I preferred that to the original)

    That isn't forgotten!

I think most people who have heard that song have a soft spot for it.

What about In The Summertime by Mungo Jerry?
Everybody knows that but what about Baby Jump from 1971.
I've never heard it played on radio.

Nope thought Mungo Jerry were 1 hit wonders.

As for Sunscreen I don't think anyone who wasn't around in 99 has all but forgotten it :p

Beyoncé- Deja Vu hasn't outlasted the #4 Irreplaceable and is not as well remember as it should be one of her best.

Would assume this is subjective to how old you are and how into the charts you were at the in your youth. I remember most of the 90's songs listed here. Hell I have Babylon Zoo's The Boy With The X-Ray Eyes album on my itunes. :D

Innuendo by Queen & Take Your Daughter to the Slaughter by Iron Maiden were both UK number ones, probably be my picks. The latter certainly wouldn't be considered one of Maiden's most famous songs, despite the fact it is their only #1..

True enough but the best #1's or songs transcend generations so there is scope for discussion :).

And I was also think Bowie and Jagger though I feel some may think that is better best forgotten :).

I remember watching VH1's Every #1 about 5-6 years ago was surprised that Take Your Daughter video was not "broadcastable" and they skipped it .... so much for playing every song!

This was never a UK no 1. It peaked at no 2 and has often featured on charts of best songs never to make number 1 :)

The mid 2000s had more forgettable (1 wk @ #1s) chart-toppers than any decade since, well, the 1950s..

    Usher - Burn
Nelly - Flap Your Wings/ My Place

Tupac ft Elton John- Ghetto gospel a travesty as it stopped Maria's We Belonged Together hitting #1 a song still so popular 9 years on.
