surely they cant pay you after your normal pay day(Friday)??

if that day is a bank hoiliday then you would be paid the day before..

thats always been the case even when i worked at M&S in 1986..

    ridiculous

It all comes down to what your contract says as I pointed out a long time ago.

My contract states I will be paid the working day immediately prior if payday is a non working day. It's perfectly possible for someone to have a contract that says the opposite.

Also possible for a contract to say nothing about it as mine does, looked last night.

Yes, perfectly possible as well. I used to be paid on the 25th but my contract said 'by the end of the month'.

They can pay you when ever they want if you contract says so.

If they put it in the contract they can pay you different times during different months.

I know many people who get paid "after a normal pay day" due to bank holidays and weekends.

people dont get paid on bank holidays or saturdays/sundays

If my pay day falls on a Monday, my money will go into my bank on a Saturday, so it does happen.
