Just watching the film Happy Go Lucky on V+ right now (on C4 last night) and oh my goodness Sally Hawkins as Poppy reminds me so much of Stacey. The perpetually cheery disposition, gauche but charming mannerisms and a giggle at the end of every sentence.

Did anyone else see the movie and agree?

Never seen or heard of the film, but I shall have a look.
I love Stacey. She is genuine and, has a fabulous voice. I am really choked that Joe will win. Simon backs him and never stops praising him, even more than he praises his own acts.
    Madness isn't it!

Stacey is actually the result of a little known affair between Su Pollard and Michael Crawford.

    En Ra Ha

Peep and creep, peep and creep.

Eddie Marsan was excellent as the driving instructor. (Actually he was scarily like one of the ones I had for a while).

And yes, Stacey is a little bit like Poppy :)
