I've always hated Green Berets. Stupid, reactionary bullshit and by then Wayne was far too fat and old to play an infantry soldier.
Westerns are a different matter. The Man Who Shot Liberty Vallance is a great film. I've always found it funny that Wayne is portrayed as the masculine tough guy juxtaposed with Stewart's weak, liberal milquetoast whereas in real life, it was Stewart who was a WWII bomber pilot whilst Wayne was safely at home in the US making propaganda films about just how great war was.
