How can I assess this 6.8gb to see what I might want to delete?

No - they're mostly audio files - about 20mb each, roughly.

You can do a lot of powerful searches, for example has:attachement will shown you any emails with attachments.

filename:mp3 will show you anything with an mp3

larger:10M will only show you attachments larger than 10Mb.

Add before:1/1/2011 to only search before 1st Jan 2011, or after:1/1/2011 to only search after.

Can the attachments be sorted by filename?

Not as far as I know. If you knew what they were called, then you could use say filename:musicmix to find anything with that in the title.

Can you see a list of the attachments themselves rather than the sent mail?

No, because the attachments are part of the email and only exist on the server as part of the email.

It's like asking to see the stamp on a particular postcard without having found the postcard first.

I'd leave it for now - you've still got tons of space left!

Yeah I'd agree with that. Theres no need to delete it just for the sake of it.

They might double your storage next week.

That was my initial thoughts too, though i didn't post it. I only have 25% usage. But i'm sure i've been at that for the past 5 years!

That means the data you're using has increased at a quarter the speed that total storage on your account has been increasing.
