Do we know what the NextBox specs are yet? And Sony haven't revealed anything except a controller and some paper specs, so anything could happen.
Well. Given we now know PS4 specs were pretty near the mark we can now take these specs with a much bigger grain of salt, as the same person leaked them.
- AMD Jaguar CPU - same as chip as PS4 but they may have different speeds, other technical differences etc
- 8GB DDR3 memory - same amount of RAM as the PS4 but a lot slower and the OS is said to take up a fair amount of that
- 32MB eSRAM - this is fast RAM that can offset some of the work traditionally sent to the main memory, thus gets around having slow cheaper memory
- 6x Blu-ray (same as PS4)
- Hard drive in every SKU (same as PS4)
The console is said to push 1.2 teraflops. This compares to the PS4's 1.8. So the PS4 is 50% more in that regard.
On Kinect, it has a wider field of view, 1080p capable and reduced latency. It also has an increased amount of pick-up points, so more joints etc are recognised.
