That is; singers who are currently active. This thread takes its cue from the top 5 fave current groups thread.

I've gone for female solo singers because there's quite a lot of them - and because I personally can't think of 5 males off the top of my head.

Ideas?

Dolly Parton (Her latest 3 albums from 2008's Backwoods Barbie to this year's Blue Smoke are her best of her whole career.)
    Lana Del Rey
Madonna (The MDNA tour, the DVD of which was only released last year, was amazing! I also did quite like MDNA.)

Would have added Britney Spears but she's not really active at the moment as she's performing in Vegas - or does that count?

    These are in no order

    Rihanna
    Beyonce
    Brandy
    Jhene Aiko
    JoJo

I would have included Christina, but shes not really active at the minute, also loving Ariana at the minute so she could have also made my list.

Leona Lewis (absolutely amazing voice, can't wait for her comeback. I think she's going to slay.)

Rihanna (always on the ball, hit after hit. Such a massive superstar.)

Katy Perry (great pop songs, good image. Not to overly sexual.)

Kelly Clarkson (great voice. Love the rock vibe in her voice. Underrated artists.)

Iggy Azalea (on the way to becoming a massive star. Love her style. Doesn't overdo the rapping.)
