ITV is showing the result live on itv.com, however they don't have the rights to the bid presentations.

I was hoping for the 3.30pm game, because it's closer to a normal KO time. But beggars (literally) can't be choosers.

You should just be happy with the £82,500!

Interesting now the 2/3 OB Saturday night highlights games? Hearts v St. Johnstone defo, Hibernian v Ayr?

    Hearts v St Johnstone
    Dundee Utd v Ross County
Hibs v Ayr Utd or Aberdeen v East Fife

The last one will depend on whether or not Mark McGhee is still Aberdeen manager, IMHO (it'll get OB coverage if he is). Although it might only be two games that get "the works", because normally the BBC rely on Sky having shown a game at lunchtime, and despatch two OBs of their own.

Presumably this is BBC Scotland only so for people who don't have Sky do Freeview have them on the red button?

The USA bid for the WC 2022 used Ian Darke's legendary commentary for Donovan's goal against Algeria.

I think we've got it locked up now. :D

Brilliant commentary on the highlights from Mowbray. Have to smile when I read people claiming his commentaries have gone downhill since leaving ITV.

However, the less said about Pearce's "In-Spector Clouseau" line on the West Ham game the better

He was very bland commentating on the World Cup bid result - can't help thinking we would have won it had it been Barry Davies!

The days when a commentator would almost always work exclusively for one broadcaster are long gone, but I still find it astonishing that Steve Bower is doing the Villareal game live on ITV 4, having commentated live on games on both BBC 1 (or was it BBC 2) and Channel 5 in just the past few weeks.

He is a very capable commentator, but surely if he has any ambitions of ever becoming a number 1 or 2 with one of the channels he won't be able to do this as he climbs the ladder?

Not forgetting his live games for ESPN and Premier Sports this season.

David Coleman also featured on the Belgium/Netherlands bid for one of Cruyff's goals during the 1974 World Cup.

    Thursday 2nd December - ITV4

    UEFA Europa League Live

Matt Smith presented alongside Darren Anderton and Andy Townsend

Paris Saint-Germain v Sevilla - Jim Proudfoot and Chris Coleman
Villarreal v Dinamo Zagreb - Steve Bower and Iain Dowie
Steaua Bucuresti v Liverpool - Jon Champion and Craig Burley (as ESPN), with Darrell Currie doing interviews
Manchester City v Red Bull Salzburg (Wednesday) - Steve Bower

The end of ITV4's coverage also featured a piece containing interviews with various members of England's World Cup 2018 bid team. There wasn't a specific ITV man asking the questions, but I spotted former Central News and ITV Sport reporter Phil Mepham flanking Gary Lineker (it's not often you see him on ITV).
