NEW HOLLYOAKS EP WIELDS AXE
Leanne Holiday, Will Savage, Sienna Blake and Patrick Blake have all been axed by new Hollyoaks exec producer Josh Clark, it has been confirmed.
It has been confirmed that at least two of the axed characters will die on-screen before the year is out. Recent set pictures show Will, played by James Atherton involved in a cliff-top showdown with brother Dodger, played by Danny Mac.
In addition to the four departures, two returns and a host of new arrivals have been confirmed. Endeavour star Roger Allam has joined the cast as Reggie McQueen, ex-husband to Nana and father to Myra. Bosses are keeping tight-lipped over just why Reggie turns up in the village, but his appearance is reported to be linked with the departure of Myra.
Also joining Reggie will be Myra's brother, John, played by The Bill actor Andrew Lancel. Also coming into the show will be Samuel Wicklow, who is described as "a confident charmer, who'll do anything to get what he wants!" No actor has yet been cast as Samuel, although early reports indicate that the actor will be "young" and "able to handle big plots".
Two shock returns have also been confirmed. Craig Dean, played by Guy Burnett. Craig comes back to the village for his son, Matthew and with no intentions of reuniting with JP, but could that change?
The second shock return is that of Seth Costello. Now described as "more confident, more sexy and a whole lot more fun", Seth returns to the village with some bad news to share, and later decides to stick around. But for how long?

Emma Rigby, who won and was nominated for several awards during her original time on the show, has agreed to a year-long comeback. It is reported that Hannah will have moved on from her anorexia and bulimia, and will now hold down a steady job as a counselor at Hollyoaks High.
Rigby, 23, commented "I am honoured to be returning to Hollyoaks and cannot thank Josh, our new Exec Producer for this opportunity to continue Hannah's story. It is a privilege to come back to the show that started my career and see how Han has progressed since her first stint on the show!

Digital Spy recently caught up with new Hollyoaks Exec Producer Josh Clark to ask about the future of the show, Read on to find out about departures, new romances and a new business opportunity for one regular....
Hi Josh. Can you tease any upcoming storylines that viewers should watch out for?
Yes I can! We've got a huge stunt planned for Christmas, which will see three characters bow out in body bags. I couldn't possibly say which characters it is that will be meeting their maker, but at least one is very popular! Also we've got Hannah's return, which I had planned all along. I also wouldn't rule out bringing back Hannah's family, but that won't happen anytime soon. We've also got a shock departure planned that hasn't been announced and that is airing in the coming weeks. So keep an eye out!
Are there any plans for some fresh blood within the adult characters?
There certainly is. We've got a wonderful actor named Hadley Fraser joining in September as the new Head of Hollyoaks Community College after Patrick is forced to resign. Jake, the new Head, is caring and compassionate and not above a bit of romance! Plus we've got the amazing Roger Allam and Andy Lancel joining as Myra's dad and brother as part of her exit storyline. I'm keen to build on the McQueens, and with Craig Dean heading back for baby Matthew, we may just see them become the family they once were!
Can you tease any plots for fan favourite Ste?
Well, Ste's had a rough time of it lately. And we're planning to do something lighter with him next, let him have a little bit of fun. I really like his friendship with Sinead, and that's going to come to the forefront soon. But as with every friendship, it's going to be majorly tested when Ste plants a move on someone very unsuitable!
Can you give us any information on Hannah's return?
Well, Hollyoaks High is looking for a counselor, and Hannah applies on the off chance. It comes as a bolt out of the blue for many villagers to see her back, and there's a somewhat awkward reunion between her and John Paul. But she's recovered from her anorexia and bulimia and has decided to try and help the youngsters in the village. The first we see of Hannah is when Tom visits the new counselor at school and is shocked to see that it's Hannah. She returns to the village and decides to stick around. She's got a new man in her life, Sam, played by Shane O'Merea, and they're hiding a little surprise from the village...
Can you tease the return of Craig?
Well, Craig and JP split in very unamicable terms! Craig absolutely hates John Paul right now, and is only back to bring baby Matthew to Ireland. The two are so standoffish with each other, and it really seems that there's no going back for them. Craig's got a new man, and JP's got Danny, so it really does seem like there's no going back for these two!
Are there any plans to introduce a new family?
Yes. I can't comment too much, but with such a large number of characters leaving, it feels right to be bringing in a new brood to stir up Hollyoaks. Also, once of the Roscoe boys is going, so we feel we need a strong family unit to come in and make the show even better than it already is.
