Ah yes, Alf Stewart from Home and Away in later years.
He he..Yep, Alf from "Home and Away". Ray Meagher.. I'm sure he was in PCBH 3 times.."Geoff Butler", "Craven" (Lol at those sunglasses) and I'm sure he played another character?

He also played the gangster called Reno who was in Sonia Stevens' last few episodes
Kurt Renner was his full name but he was called Reno
Yes I know I probably missed last couple years, dipping in and out of it now and then.
It really seemed to go down hill when that half way house came into it.
It's funny, where most PCBH fans prefer the late 1970's with Bea and Lizzie, I wasn't overstruck on those eps.
I prefer the early 1980's - the Myra, Judy, Pixie, Lou and Reb crew.
I guess Bea, Lizzie and Doreen are seen as the "classic"line up. I love the series from start to finsish but I do think that the later episodes never hit the dizzy heights of the earlier episodes

You should request to the mods on here that the other thread regarding PCBH is joined in this one. There was some good conversations going on:) Trouble is being in the Gen Discussion forum, topics move so fast they dissapear into oblivion:)

I like them all to be honest - although the storylines in the 'earlier days' could be a lot darker - especially w/regard to prisoners with mental problems.

There was a couple of posters on that thread who knew tons more about PCBH than us (John Boy Walton and Mcal) but haven't picked up on this one yet
I always loved Erica - Patsy King got her spot on - she was firm but fair - OK she could be a touch pantomime at times but she wasn't one dimensional - she did care about the women and Lizzie's antics always seemed to amuse her

One of the best was crazy Kate Peterson:
The Kate Peterson story is one that has been cut on some releases and doesn't make sense - Have I got that right ?

I think my boxset may be one of these :(
Not heard of that - the episodes that I've got show her descent into madness in totality I think. In some ways I could understand them cutting some bits - her deterioration went on a bit too long IMO - after she'd finished off Sandy, it sort of lingered a bit for a few episodes until she went totally bonkers.

Ernest Craven near the end of the PCBH run
He made Ferguson look like Mary Poppins

Nice one richie4eva.....I only watched PCBH for the first few years of it's run. Had a hunch Ray re-appeared towards the end of 1986!
Glenda Linscott (Rita Connors) is still alive.
Ernie Bourne (Mervin Pringle) has passed away.
Billie Hammerberg (May Collins) has passed away.
Olivia Hamnett (Dr Kate Peterson) has also gone now.
Taya Straton (Spider Simpson) has passed away too.

Yes, my sincere apologies about that, your correct - I honestly dont know, where I thought I read that.
she is indeed still alive in real-life.
sorry for any inconvenience my statement caused.

How has it been edited?
Research required !
Can't remember the Kate Peterson ones being cut.
I remember Julie Egbert suddenly appearing after having been seriously attacked, but we didn't see the attack itself or what led up to it.
Yep - I think you're right - cheers
