Saved the world and now the Kingdom. I don't think theres a more noble cause than that, at least not in the eyes of the Queen, we all know how she felt on this referendum issue - ''I hope the people of Scotland think very carefully about the future'' *nod* *nod* *wink* *wink*.

Well obviously he'll become a Lord when he retires as de facto prime minister.......well, after he's finished telling Cameron what to do and when to do it

There are far less deserved people with knighthoods.

He's due a knighthood anyway because he's a former PM.

No doubt he can have a peerage if he pays the requisite amount.

Not all ex-PMs receive such honours

Thatcher recieved one because of her legacy and length of time in office

Major recieved one because he was close to the royal family and was trusted by time to be guardian to the princes

Blair still hasn't recieved one, and will likely never because of his immense unpopularity even within his own party

I don't think Blair should get one as I can't stand his smugness. But do you think he come across as wanting one?

When he gives the gold back.

Actually he may have spent quite a bit of bullion on the scriptwriter - that cemetry speech was a good 'un.

I would have no problem with Brown getting the usual honours.

He's not due anything. Where do people get these ideas from, or is it just the same few?

Even If he handed the third of my private pension back he stole for their outrageous spending spree, thereby forcing myself and too many like me to work past retirement age and demolishing private pensions worth for good, I would still not ever regard him worthy. Even though they mean diddly squat nowadays. Lets not think about our gold reserves. The man is a moron, the worst Chancellor and non- Labour Party in history.

Knighthood, what the hell for? Along with that other ****, Blair, Brown is responsible for royally ****ing this Country up. Both of 'em should be strung up by bollocks and left to the crows.

No, I think she became Baroness Thatcher by virtue of being married to Denis, who earned a peerage in his own right.

Dennis was recommended for his honour by the Prime Minister of the day.

Who knows? Then again, Major didn't get his until eight years after leaving, so maybe Blair hasn't even been offered his yet.
