    Well Augusta
i agree the coffee shops are good
but i want a decent coffee in the morning and a choice, as soon as i wake up
so its a coffee machine or moving to live above a coffee shop :o:D

its a minefield, i keep thinking i found the one i want, then i read the reviews and it puts me off
so i think this is going to take longer than i thought

    good morning JJat
loooking forward to the Rugby Today

or how about buying the same one as they use in coffee shops? No idea how expensive they are.....but they look great fun..... I wonder if costa coffee would sell you one at cost price, if you pretended to be a cafe??

I had a DeLonghi coffee maker. Nothing really wrong with it, but I got fed up with the time it took if I had a few people to make it for. Not so bad if it's just for you. I also found it an expensive way to get my caffeine hit - so I decided to go back to my filter machine. And I think i must be a pleb, because I prefer the way it tastes!

I gave the coffee maker to my brother, and he thinks it's great, so I guess it's all down to personal taste.

    Morning all!

Have you looked through WHICH magazine georgy? They take a lot of stress out of deciding about appliances. Local libraries usually have copies if you aren't a member. I will look through my back copies to see if there is anything?

Good to see you nat and bblover. Hope you are both well and happy.

My hometown got 40 inches of snow but the main roads are clear and shops are open. All this done within 24 hours.

The day-school was great. Had a wonderful time and was told that my drawings were GOOD! Only problem - I was pooped!!!

Busy week - osteopath, dentist, visit to Bodleian reserve collection, physio - such an exciting life I lead.

Thanks Nyannie that would be helpful
i,m looking and liking the Jura ones at the moment,
so if they have any reviews on them
that would be really helpful :D

by the way Nyannie a few years ago i bought one of
those american vitamix processors , have you heard of them
(brilliant machine) it delivers hot fresh soup in 5mins and also makes ice cream :D

so pleased you had a good time on your art class
    no snow here
hope all goes well with your appointments :D

that sounds a lovely idea, and we were also thinking of meeting up for tea one afternoon.......shall we start with choosing a particular month....?

Good idea Augusta :). I can't quite think as far ahead as November but I'd love to meet up for tea. Would April be a good month for people (after Easter)? Perhaps around the middle of the month? :)

    Sounds good to me :D

with whistles, lights and a milk frothing machine :p

i think before i buy, i,m going to need to do a taste test :D

    thanks for this, thats
what the reviews said, long time to make and hard to clean
and as soon as they said hard to clean
well that put me right off :D

I'm away mid to end of April!

A word of warning - most hotels in London charge about £35 to £70 for afternoon tea although I think a couple of places like the Wolsey do it for about £20 - you have to book about two months in advance - and only have the table for a maximum of 2 hours there. Fortnum's tea was disappointing (and cost about £20). If I am going to Afternoon Tea I want to go to a nice hotel where I will be relaxed and where I will get the works - really good sandwiches, cakes, large scones and good tea! I understand Langham's hotel is very good but think it is about £50 - will have to look it up. The Connaught, Claridges etc are all over £50.

I also don't want to go home during rush hour so I may not come. I guess I'm getting old but I really hate busy trains. I guess on balance I'd best decline.

Sorry to put a damper on the idea but I'm not keen - and I have to economize - a trip to Paris in April, ballet tickets, Queens tennis and my husband's surprise weekend - makes anything expensive not feasible for me at the moment.

I've bit off all my nails! I am so glad England won. I switched between Harry Potter and the rugby. Attrocious weather conditions but both sides did well considering.

You will have to keep me informed about next week georgy - we are going out for lunch with friends for the next three Saturdays.

    Have a lovely evening all.

My cousin has a vitamix processor. She doesn't use it much but she does make soup in it. They are very good and don't break. I make lots of hot soup but don't use any appliance. Think I told you we invested in an ice-cream machine which we have used once. I'm trying to get rid of it!

I have an old-fashioned filter coffee machine that is 35 years old and makes terrific coffee. I think it is up to the coffee. We buy beans and then grind them when we want some decent coffee. Makes much better coffee than the ground coffee. Hope this helps

ok if this is not viable
    how about a Art Gallery
perhaps the Tate Modern, well any of them really
and we can have tea and cake in there :D

i,m really pleased with it, such a handy thing to have,
i know we buy these things like ice cream makers
and they are a bit of a novelty, that soon wears thin :o

but i like this because its one machine that does the lot,
soup, ice cream, smoothies, sorbet, dips and no peeling, cores and pips just get thrown in :o:D

all i can say is .... America make one super duper food processor :D
