I'm amazed no TV company (not just ITV) has launched a soap channel before. I vagually remember in Sky's early years there was a soap channel but wasn't that good.
But I wish a TV company would launch a soaps channel, it can't be any worse than some of the other dross on Sky flicking through the EPG surely.
Here would be my ideal schedule for a soaps channel (all shows would start from the first episode of that particular soap)...
6.00am Neighbours
6.30 Home and Away
7.00 Sons and Daughters
7.30 The Young Doctors
8.00 Dynysty
9.00 Dallas
10.00 EastEnders
10.30 Coronation Street
11.00 Emmerdale Farm
11.30 Brookside
12.00pm Crossroads
12.30 Hollyoaks
1.00 Eldorado
1.30 Shortland Street
2.00 Teleshopping
6.00 Falcon Crest
7.00 EastEnders (repeat from earlier)
7.30 Coronation Street (repeat from earlier)
8.00 Emmerdale Farm (repeat from earlier)
8.30 Brookside (repeat from earlier)
9.00 Crossroads (repeat from earlier)
9.30 Hollyoaks (repeat from earlier)
10.00 Eldorado (repeat from earlier)
10.30 Shortland Street (repeat from earlier)
11.00 Neighbours (repeat from earlier)
11.30 Home and Away (repeat from earlier)
12.00am Sons and Daughters (repeat from earlier)
12.30 The Young Doctors (repeat from earlier)
1.00-6.00am Teleshopping
In an ideal world I'd have 24 straight hours of soaps, but if such a channel was ever made, you could probably bet your bottom dollar on Teleshopping being thrown in the schedule somewhere, especially if it were a Sky-only channel, hence why I put it in my dream schedule

some great soaps youve missed = sunset beach, santa barbara, prisoner: cell block h
:DThey used to run Granada plus (or gold)...this used to show classic corrie and classic e'dale...i used to love it...don't know why it went but I'd certainly supoort a classic soap comeback...:D

This is a great Idea - would love to see Crossroads again. Don't forget the other Granada soaps like Albion Market and FAMILY the UK/Aussie soap that gave a young Jude Law his first break! And like the earlier poster said - classic Brookie too - not sure if it's Lime Pictures or the old Mersey TV who would own that now?:)

What's with all the teleshopping.

With a mixture of UK, AU and US soaps past and present and promoted on their other channels I think it could do quite well in digital terms.
