Well she is a female Thor and now calls herself Daughter of Oden so she is either Thor changed gender or a unknown sister.

Thor isn't a title, it is his name.

If it is an unknown sister why would she be called Thor? Thor, meet your sister, Thor.

I know that so it makes more sense that the female Thor in the comics is the same person just changed genders

So in a future film they can look at both male and female stars to play him/her it opens up the process

So Thor is in a gay relationship with Sif and when Loki chops off her wifes hair he gets the dwarves to make her a hammer?

    Are their children adopted?

What does this even mean? Open up the process of what?

No, Thor is a title and a name. Thor Odinson was the name of the previous Thor who is now unworthy and without one arm.

The new Thor is a female.

Opens up the audition process to both genders when Chris Hemsworth leaves the role

No it isn't, Son of Odin is a title hence the surname Odinson, Pagans never had surnames.

When you wield Thors hammer you don't become Thor.

You know I'm talking about Thor in Marvel canon, right?

Yes and the naming process is the same, that is why Odin is called Odin Borson, because he is the son of Bor.

Odin was a shapeshifter, maybe his offspring (also a Norse god, rather than a human) inherited his ability.
    ...
In Norse mythology, however, both Odin and Loki taunt each other with having taken the form of females in the Lokasenna. The ultimate proof of this was that they had given birth and had nursed their offspring.

They do, that is why i said it is the only way it would make sense. Except they didn't go with that angle, instead Thor still exists and instead of whoever wields his hammer gaining his power, they apparently gain his name too.

Unfortunately James Bond is a human, not a Norse god, so is unlikely to be able to change his gender or skin colour. ;-)

You can't have a new "Thor" it isn't a title given to whoever wields the hammer, It is his name.

You can have a new Thor - Marvel have done it.

Whether you are able to accept that or not is irrelevant.

Of course you can. It's as simple as writing it on a page and filming it.

Marvel can do what they like in their own stories.

Like it or not Marvel says Thor is now female.

It's about proportion. When we reach the day when everything is fifty/fifty, then go ahead with the Shaft reboot.
Why should it be 50:50 when the proportion of the UK population from ethnic minorities is only around 13%?

    Wasn't Zeus a swan once?

Also Laurence Olivier, who never looked particularly Greek to me.

But I thought they were taking over and the whites would be a minority in the next 5 years

Isn't that the usual BS certain papers and political parties try to tell us

I'm not really that bothered as like you I'm not a big fan but it's not going to change. He will always be white as it too much of a gamble to switch his race and Bond is a big earner for Sony.

Indeed, and it will be a completely different person. Taking the franchise in a completely different direction.

It would work for something like Batman because no-one sees the person within the mask but for a human secret agent it would be ridiculous, unless he killed anyone who found out his identity, all his old foes would have to feign ignorance of a change in skin colour.

But, as I said before, it happened to his friend Felix. :D

Now, if a white original James Bond was shown being killed at the beginning of the film and the plot progressed to show someone taking over the mantel of 007, with the associated name of James Bond, it might work.

But not simply cast a Black actor in the role without a plausible explanation for the change.

What happens with the next film if they want a white actor to play the part again?

What sort of argument is "your ability to accept it is irrelevant" when we are talking about representations of characters/people/myths and whether or not it should happen?

The only thing people keep saying as justification for doing it is that it doesn't matter. If that is the case, Jesus is now a cat.
