And they did so well they`re gonna do it all again next year.. bet the President of Uganda gets a new Helicopter soon..
And countless zelebs get to travel all over the world, no doubt practising their grief-stricken faces for when they get there to witness the never-ending atrocities.
Fed up with shows taking over TV for a whole night. I bet half the money never even gets to where it's intended, the corruption is that rife in charities nowadays.

Grief-porn.
And lots of sad people on Digital Spy get another chance to have a good moan about the BBC and charity appeals as well as trying to justify why give little to charity.
...as well as trying to justify why give little to charity.
This is the kind of thing that really irks me about charity occasions like Sport Relief and people who support them - the sanctimony they both convey which virtually states that people have a social duty or moral obligation to contribute and anyone who doesn't is a heartless, uncaring bastard.
People have as much of a right to not give money to a cause as they have to give money and they should be able to exercise that right with a clear conscience and not have to endure attitudes like the one above - particularly in light of the continuing poor financial predicament which means that charity has to begin at home for many people.
I usually don't like stuff like this as I find them pointless. I mean we're wasting countless amounts of money as since the birth control system in Africa is so poor, these issues will keep going on until they sort themselves out. But that thing with Bob was very sad, probably one of the only things on these shows I'd ever donate for
Beckham did a good job.. Most sportsmen are as wooden as a fence post.. See the Santander ad. But let's not blow too much smoke up his arse.. He may have had about 20 takes for each line.
Exactly, people hero worship Beckham but don't know how many takes it took to get it right.

A lot of people on DS are as entitled as you, to point out their distaste with this programme and the celebs who take part without being "sad" or stingy with their charitable donations.
I didn't watch all of it, I went to bed at 10.30, but what I did watch I quite enjoyed apart from Miranda Hart and those two footballers with her, I can not stand David Ginola.
Only Fools and Horses with David Beckham made me smile.
Two or Three of the UK clips made my eyes fill up.
Alex and Davinia were both exceptional.
The Strictly Come Dancing Special was one of the most horrible things that I have ever seen. The amazing Paralympians deserved to be treated like competitors and given an honest critique of their performances, not patted on the head and told they were all champions just for getting on a dance floor. It was so patronising.

Instead of assuming have a read of the accounts Comic/Sports Relief and Children in Need are very good with their money

Personally I have never found it distasteful to raise awareness and for people to give their time.
Just caught a few minutes of "Sport Relief Mastermind" during Sport Relief The Best Bits. All I can say is if that was part of the best bits I'm glad I gave it a miss completely last night. It was woeful!
The issue I have with these shows is they are just p**s poor entertainment.
If you want the money, just ask for it. I don't see why watching some z listers do synchronised swimming is going to make me rush for the credit card any faster
There's also too much music in the show (like every other charity show). It just seems the cheapest way to fill the programme.
I also tire of watching z listers or new recruits from X factor goto Africa and squeeze out a few tears when they seeing dying children. It's not that I don't think it is upsetting, it's more a case that I feel the BBC is telling me how upset to be by showing an over privileged geordie teenager getting upset, (one who doesn't even know what it's like to have kids, let alone ones that are critically ill)
On a par with laughter tracks on comedy. Do I need to know when to laugh?
Personally I have never found it distasteful to raise awareness and for people to give their time.
Indeed!
Each to their own as they say.
I don't however think that the public are so ignorant of third world poverty that they need celebs to go make films overseas to remind us of the blight of those less fortunate than us. Or make pathetic attempts at humourous scenarios (sic) for their own entertainment. Really not good.
For me, it's totally distasteful and smacks of getting their own persona out there in the public. Let's do our bit for Charideeee.......
As I said, it is a personal opinion that I stand by.:)

The OFAH sketch was just awful. Not funny at all. Bringing it back would be a disaster.
I have just caught up watching the sketch from last night and it was not that funny... till the end. David did do well with his finale but then he is a plank
I think bring back Open All Hours proved not to bring back OFAH.
Personally I have never found it distasteful to raise awareness and for people to give their time.
Those are actually my favourite part, I was slightly disappointed last night that there weren't more! If people don't like it they can change the channel or, as someone nicely said on here earlier, JFO.

Yes - in some of the café bits, I noticed Jason going into his normal, posher voice, rather than Del boy.

Did you hear him singing in the World Cup song? LOL
i thought it was ok. david jason is too old to play that character now though. even rodders looked really old. beckham was rubbish as expected.
