    A
Called that apparently so that their records will be easy to find it music shops.
Seems like a neat idea, but talking about the band to other people must be a nightmare.
    "Erm... A what?"
Their actual name then has to be 'The band A'
    The The

    This one ^
Just saying it makes me titter. :D

One Direction - Say it fast and it sounds like Wand Erection...Plus it sounds like Simon Cowell named them, and of course he did.

I love that name, they have played on that a few times. 'Absolute Garbage' was a pretty good name for a greatest hits :D

Harry actually came up with the name.

And a lot of the fangirls actually love the term 'Wand Erection' believe it or not! :D

Porcupine Tree. Terrible name, but in fact they are an excellent band, on a par with Pink Floyd IMO.

Not sure they're on a par with Pink Floyd, but they are a great band, and it's an absolute disgrace they're not allowed on Jools Holland.

    Toad The Wet Sprocket!

Probably because, like me, most people have never heard of them! ;)

Most bands now. Instead of letting their music do the proverbial talking, they would rather come up with silly name and have 2 seconds of fame.

Hardly a constructive post. Would be better if you'd listed said bands instead of a lazy general swipe at modern music.

It must be hard to come up with a "normal" sounding name these days that hasn't already been used/trademarked at some point.

Some of my favourite bands have daft names.

    Death Cab For Cutie
Margot & the Nuclear So and So's
    Cherry Ghost

and another band I know of called Someone Still Loves You, Boris Yeltsin.

I think Death Cab for Cutie is from a song of the same name from the 60s by Bonzo Dog Doo-Da Band - it appeared in the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour ha

Worst name I can think of is 'Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly' which Simon Amstell deservedly took the piss out of on Never Mind the Buzzcocks a few years ago :D

    Girls Can't Catch...

That name makes me cringe, but I did like their music. I really wish they had got to release their album :(
