"Sugar Sugar" by The Archies. Makes me want to vomit. And they were a cartoon band, which only makes it worse...

I loathe "Come on Eileen" by Dexy's Midnight Runners though thankfully I think you can get away with going to a wedding party and not hearing it these days.

Don't get me started on this one, I was at a university karaoke party one night and one guy decided to sing this song. I went outside while he was singing it and when I told another student I didn't like it they were shocked! One guy was like "Why? Is your name Eileen?" I went "no, it's not but I just hate the song. Too cheesy and annoying..." I think they expected me to like it  and I can't stand it!

Angels by Robbie Williams. I like the guy, but boy, that song annoys me. Also, I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor.

since we're approaching the festive season I thought I'd nominate a Christmas song - Santa Baby. It really makes my skin crawl, I presume it's a song about a hooker and her sugar daddy.

I don't like Santa Baby much either. I think the most dreary festive song might be Frosty the Snowman.

All the songs which are on those "Now That's What I Call Music..." compilations since about 1986. All of them. God I hate pop music.

Aside from that I'll pick out a few special songs I utterly detest:

    Red Red Wine by UB40
I've got a Feeling by Black Eyed Peas
Run by Leona Lewis (the Snow Patrol original is brilliant, however)
Mustang Sally by absolutely anyone who's ever covered it
Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison
Unchained Melody by anyone who's ever covered it
    Material Girl by Madonna

    so much more...

the list would be to long to fit here

but would certainly include anything discussed in a thread which stayed on the top page for more than a day

Oh yes, Santa Baby is cringeworthy.

At the moment, I really hate Dynamite by Taio Cruz. I never liked it to begin with, but my flatmate is obsessed with it and puts it on repeat when she's getting ready to go out.

Oasis - Wonderwall, Dire song that outshadowed some of their other greats as "Digsys Dinner" and "Aquiesce."

Eminem - Not Afraid, Ironic that the guy "grows up" while his fans still remain mentally the same age, and he's continually praising this.

Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend, A great example of what commercialism does to "Punk" even worse was Cher Lloyd covering it.

Lonely Island - On a Boat, We get it, your on a boat.

Empire State of Mind - Jay-Z & Alicia Keys

    Single Ladies by Beyonce

    Your Song
by Ellie Goulding (why are people raving about this dull as dishwater, piece of garbage )

That song is never off the music channels. Trouble with it is that I hear it once and then it gets stuck in my head and it drives me nuts then! I always reach for the mute button when it comes on TV.

    .

Every single Avril song qualifies for that. She reeks of 'corporate'.

Anything by La Roux (don't actually hate the music but i read an interview with her and she seemed to have a right attitude)
    Anything by the Bieber
    Alesha dixon
Most of Scouting for Girls, Hoosiers etc
Actually Joe McElderry, who I loved in xfactor - but now just seems to sing stuff that doesn't show his voice
    Alexandra Burke
I do like Katy Perry songs but they are massively overplayed

In for the kill is an awful song. Her vocals are bloody awful. I am suprised she cracked the US, not only is she arrogant (explains why her and kanye have sorta become mates) but she is so boring to even market

I used to like Avril. I bought her second album the other day, and it all sounds so childish now (imo)

You should check on youtube an interview she did with a canadian man called Nardwuar the human serviette (He's a funny interviewer who pre-researches his interviewees for random facts) She said one of the most sexist things you could imagine when she got shown a vinyl of women with guitars.

I really really really hate half the trash on the radio. I thank god I don't drive yet. Anything by justin bieber makes me want to go stuff my ears with tissues though.

Songs by most of the plastic boy/girl bands who are around these days ~ they can't sing and apart from a couple of them don't write their own music .

They are just dreadful in IMO ,among the one's I dislike the most are : Girls Aloud,The Saturdays,Westlife ,Britney , Anybody from the X factor (Leona being the exception to that )and I could go on and on.........

Just wondered, is it just their version you hate, or do you hate the song in general?

As covers go, the UB40 version of RRW annoys the hell out of me, but I love the original.
