Fans of superstar Rihanna have begged her to stop using the racist N-word on her Twitter account.

The Diamonds star got in hot water with her loyal fanbase after tweeting pictures from her recent holiday, captioning one of her holding a youngster as 'My lil n***a'.

She is so desperate to shock that it's quite pathetic really. :(

I suppose she'd defend it by saying it's OK for her to use the 'N' word because she's black.

An insult to her ancestors. Just like it is when every other black person uses it as a term of endearment. No respect for history.

Remember her appearing at a record signing or something with loads of kids present, wearing a necklace with F*** Off on it (asterisks mine btw)

I think perhaps the 'n' word being used by African-Americans is similar to the word ''queer'' being used by gay people. Both words began as a disgusting insulting word used by racists/homophobes. But they got adopted by black/gay people, almost as a way of ridiculing the word and making it less of an insult. Almost as a way of taking away the power of homophobes and racists and saying ''F**k you, we've hijacked your word and make it something positive so you can't hurt us with it.''
I'm not saying I agree with it, but I can see where people are coming from when they use it.

This, pretty much. I hate the word, I know black people are reclaiming it, but because of the origins it makes me sick to my stomach. Though I highly doubt Rhianna has the intelligence to realise why it is such a hated word, she strikes me as incredibly dumb.

On a side note I do worry for her, I am not fan but she seems to be on a downward spiral. I hope someone reaches her before she ends up in rehab completely burnt out.

Riannah's in danger of losing some of her revenue if she doesn't keep all of her fans happy. She won't think she's so clever then.

To me, this is the same as if I, as a gay man, used the F-word about myself, but got offended if a heterosexual person said it.

An offensive term is an offensive term, no matter who says it.

I'm more offended she would seem to be insanely marrying that wretched Brown creature and his fists of doom.

What are you on about?

I wouldn't use that word whatever colour my skin was. It's revolting and a reminder of a past which is long gone but can sadly never be forgotten by people who feel strongly about it.

As sad as it is, millions of kids look up to her, so she should really should consider how what she says is perceived. To be honest though, I'm not sure she has the brainpower to do so.
