Hi,
I want to be able to draw freehand and have the results appear in software like Photoshop or CorelPaint. I have had a look at what there is and I am confused. I couldn't see anything regarding compatibility with various software.
I'd appreciate any input or advice about what is good - I'd look more for something that behaves as an input device and is not tied to its own software..
I'd be using it with a Windows 7 64 bit PC.

Use Illustrator
For a stylus look at ones from a company called Wacom as they specialise in them
If you want an integrated solution then Surface Pro.
There are many cheaper brands on the market and some get good reviews but, call me elitist, I stick with Wacom.
Aiptek is another make, my friends daughter got one, but my friend don't rate than as high as Wacom.
I can confirm what others have said, you can use Photoshop and a graphic tablet.
I have used a cheap thirty quid Trust tablet bought from Maplins for years, using Photoshop elements 2 the disc for which came free with a PC magazine. After installing the software, I simply plugged in the USB connector and started drawing. Easy peasy. D.
I hope so, my friend have been doing it for years and other software as well. she uses a MAc mind you not a PC, but still the same
