Found a nice article about Paul McCartney and Delia Derbyshire - the lady who created the Doctor Who theme tune from Ron Grainer's original composition:

    I can't wait to hear what the new version will sound like. :) It's a very popular song, that's been covered lots of times. I would say the most popular cover version is by Marti Pello's former group Wet Wet Wet, back in 1997.

    Apparently this version was used in Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie the same year! I didn't know that. I knew Boyzone had one of their hits used in the film, cos Rowan Atkinson appeared in the Irish group's video. But didn't know that Marti's group's cover of Yesterday had been.

    There is no new version Tigerpoo, Sir Paul was saying that at the time of recording he wanted to do an electronic version.:)
    It was never done.
