Watching the BBC News Channel tonight there is no mention that the SNP got the largest share of the vote in Scotland. Focus is on UKIP and it's results and they have lots of coverage about the Front National making gains in France, but they fail to address what happened in Scotland where the SNP who are the governing party managed to gain the largest share of the vote after 7 years as the government.
There is a bias that is becoming more apparent as the independence referendum nears and the SNP may have to take legal action to ensure the 'National' broadcaster remains impartial and delivers coverage that accurately represents political news.
Brian Taylor was woeful covering the results and an embarrassment interviewing the first minister.

The BBC should be representing the whole of the country and reporting results and news accurately.
BTW.... the petition site is a scam it's a money earning venture..... avoid!
Money earning website...... I would not recommend visiting it or making any payment to it.
Ofgem are the UK regulators for energy products!! (What that has to do with broadcasting issues is a mystery).
Scotland didn't announce it's results until this lunchtime. Perhaps if the Scots had actually announced a result there would have been more coverage last night.
From what I can see it got the same level of coverage as London which has 3 million more people!
"That's the joke"
How much does an ordnance survey map cost?
Scotland would see what one third of the landmass Great Britain actually looks like..
Are you seriously implying that there is something lower in production values than "Homes Under the Hammer" or "Heir Hunters" and lower in quality than "The Voice" or "Eastenders"? However will we live?!
no it won't as it will likely combine the resources of the BBC and STV to deliver a high quality output to Scottish viewers and listeners who will also have access to BBC services via Sky and on-line.
One thing is certain, Scottish broadcasting will cover Scottish issues far more accurately than the BBC currently does.
I know you refute anything that would be saying independence would make scotland worse off but the BBC is a quality media outlet. Whether or not we should fund it is up for argument but scotland would probably have a worse national broadcaster.
totally stunned when Adam Boulton retweeted something I sent him saying the fact UKIP
had been allowed to use "no policies yet wait till 2015" as an Answer.
the current scheme of things.. Libdems are over. Labour haven't done as good as they should...lets not mention the tories on any level!!!. Farage is now playing the victim to joan Collins Dynasty Standards. The media have been in a total shambles these elections.
The media in General are so focused on the marginals everywhere else just doesn't matter.
Nonsense, Scotland would get something like the quality OHBC!!
Maybe; maybe not. The fact is we would still get the BBC (for those relatively few people on this forum that don't appear to think it's utter garbage - and I'm not talking about Scots; just look at every week's QT threads).
BIB, just for us youngsters, what does that mean?
Not being funny, but most people in England, are not interested in Scotland. Its entire population is less than that of London, and if they vote for independence, the media can ignore them completely.
I couldn't believe it the other week when the BBC reported the news of Prince Charles' comments about Putin. Who did they cut to a clip of one of their reporters interviewing on the subject? Who else but Nigel Farage - a man with no mandate and whose party has no MPs, but is yet considered by the BBC to be the chap whose opinions on anything and everything the country NEEDS to know.
professional victim
in fairness the guy has owned them totally but they were so focused on trying to unearth some great racist plot going on, the real issues were totally ignored. they seem just as stunned as the other parties
Yep never seen anything like it.
the hours of coverage Farage has been given is just
Nastiness is quite at home there.
That would be "take the high road". Not that i am familiar with the oeuvre.
Trouble with your energy supplier?
