I wish some people would give it a chance. It's a 3-parter for God's sake. Ghost stories are nearly always a slow-burner. It's called building up the tension and atmosphere, whilst unravelling the story.

I thought it was brilliant. Beautifully filmed and directed. Great performances. None of the cast lets it down. Lovely traditional creepy ghost story feel to it. I personally love stuff like this. You should check out the BFI Ghost Stories at Christmas box set. Well worth the money.

    More like this please,BBC.

    I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

What a dreary place Slaithwaite looks.

No wonder Southerners think it's grim up north.

Right, getting ready for tonight's episode:

Lights dimmed and candles lit for atmosphere - check

Cushion to hide behind - check

Brandy to calm the nerves - check

Nightlight for when I'm having bad dreams tonight - check!

    Convenient

40 minutes in and he has appeared for 3 seconds in a dream sequence.

    Hardly justifies top billing
