Sky box froze in sleep mode

Hi, I have a sky 2tb box it's about 2yrs old.
Over the past two weeks it won't come out of sleep mode.
Have to unplug,take card out leave for 5 mins, switch on at plug leave for 5 mins then turn box on.
Is my box on the way out or is there something else I can do.

    It could indeed be faulty, but first try doing a forced software download to it.
    That may sort it out.
    If you have the auto standby mode on "ECO" also try turning that off.

    My new 2tb box did this last week and it took three attempts to put right. Funny thing is it very quickly updated to the new firmware with the watchists and has been fine since.
