And give her 100 hours of "Community Service", clearing snow.

when i listened to it the first time, i just immediately thought of your garden variety chav who just automatically assumes that if anything happens in their life, it must be taken VERY VERY SERIOUSLY BECAUSE IT'S LIKE EASTENDERS INNIT ?

I think it was the "i'm not being funny" and "d'you know wot i mean?" 's that gave it away ..

The phone call is hilarious - it's like something out of a sketch show. The mentality of some people though.

She shouldn't be charged with anything. Both of them, the caller and the operator, should be given a contract by the BBC. They would be a great double act.

The force said the woman, from Chatham, thought the incident required their involvement because she used pound coins for eyes and teaspoons for arms.

I wonder what this woman thinks of the police for the other 364 days of the year.

If they did, I don't think it was to investigate the case of the missing snowman. From another report:
...Kent Police said officers had given her advice on real 999 emergencies...

...The operator then told her she had rung an emergency line and she should not be calling it to report the theft of a snowman.

Ch Insp Simon Black said: "This call could have cost someone's life if there was a genuine emergency and they couldn't get through.

    "It was completely irresponsible.

"We have spoken to her and advised her what is a 999 call, and this clearly was not."

I bet she calls again when the temperature rises reporting the theft of all the snow from her garden.

    That's a seriously not-to-scale snowman!

    Poor lady.

She did very wrong ringing the police, but I know how she feels as someone stole my snowman a couple of years a go.

There is no need for theft. Not when you spend money to dress the snowman up.

I think the general idea is to use old clothes, coal and carrots that you don't actually mind getting wet / ruined / stolen.

    I'd have still been upset.

What gives someone else the right to steel the snowman you've spent time making.

I'm not excusing the fact she called 999. That is just wrong, but I would be annoyed.

Stupid Chav more like, for not using common sense, what must go through the heads of these idiots. Should be charged for wasting police time.
