I've been taking standard Vitamin 25mg/ug D3 chewable tablets this winter. I've had no colds or sore throats but I've no way of knowing if I would have anyway. They don't appear to have had any effect on my eczema or arthritic pain. They do appear to have had a positive and significant affect on my mood and sleep which I really wasn't expecting.
Anyway as of next week (UK) we should be able to get most the vitamin D (depending on age) we need from sunshine (lol as if) which is cheap and probably far more effective. NHS article about health claims with further links:
