Ted Robbins collapses on stage at M.E.N.

During the opening night of Phoenix Nights, Ted Robbins (playing Den Perry) collapsed of what appeared to be a heart attack during a solo spot. The curtains were drawn and a paramedic was called to the stage. The show was then promptly cancelled. Thoughts and best wishes to Ted and family.

Just seen this, so shocking hope he's going to be ok.

Co-star Justin Moorhouse, who plays Young Kenny, informed the audience saying: “We are very sorry. This is not part of the show. I’m afraid we’re going to have to postpone the show tonight.”

Someone on my Facebook was there when it happened. Apparently he just "dropped down" on stage in the middle of the show.

My thoughts are with Ted and his family tonight, awful news and I hope he makes a speedy recovery, I have tickets for Wednesday, I wonder if the shows will still go ahead ?

One of the nicest guys in the business, if you read the celeb reaction on Twitter. Probably
better known in the industry than outside it as he has done alot of warm- up work for shows. He was in Little Britain and. rather obviously, Phoenix Nights. He's related to Paul McCartney and sister Kate did a lot of the voices on Spitting Image.Oh, and he did a one man show about Les Dawson.

Says in the M.E.N. (local paper) that he's stable and resting. Hope he is OK, 20.000 people left the arena last night and by all accounts not one was concerned by reschedules or refunds (as it's for Comic Relief anyway), just that Ted gets better. He's very very well liked around here and though I've never met him I've heard from many many sources that he's an absolutely lovely down to Earth bloke. Get well soon Ted.

they were on 80's comedy shows, Kate too, impressionists ( that's how i remember them anyway )

He also hosts CBBCs talent show 'The Slammer'.
