I don't think I saw this one in anyone else's posts and it's a Cult classic in my opinion:

    Battle of the Planets

Thank you Bester for getting Star Fleet into the list.

I think both these shows are well overdue a remake and would fit in very well with the current vogue for story-arc based cult TV.

There's a documentary, or a set of interviews, on the Star Fleet DVD release. One thing that's mentioned on there is that ITV wanted a second series and it would have gone ahead. Sadly, a fire at the Japanese production house destroyed all the props, thus making it far more expensive to produce a second series.

BotP - Yep watched that and loved it at the time. Now I've seen Gatchaman though I can hardly watch it anymore. Half of the plot cut out of each episode and 7zark7 wedged in to pave over any continuity cracks/plot loopholes.

And the 70's too for the BBC shows.
They never gave them up simply because a new decade started.

Thankfully the majority of classic kids shows are now out on dvd , even some that are incomplete in the archives or don't exist in their original format.

Only 3 episodes exist from The Georgian House but the dvd has the other 4 in script format.

Sky and King of the Castle had episodes irreparably damaged when HTV were having them converted to a more modern format in the mid 80's so a few episodes of those only exist on home video formats , yet good old Network released them on dvd.

And of course there are loads where the colour tapes were wiped or junked and only B&W versions remain but we still have Escape Into Night , Timeslip, The Jensen Code and others on dvd.

Network have even released some volumes of Look Back on Telly .
These 2 disc sets take individual episodes from many ITV kids shows and make a great compilation.
In the case of Tingha and Tucker the dvd includes the only episode that remains.
