They're looking to cast from Lis Sladen and Barry Letts to Matt Smith and Steven Moffat.
Now, however, news has reached us, via The Digital Fix, that there's a one-off drama heading to our screens that tells the story of Tom Baker's early life. A casting call for a project called The Letter has appeared online, with the focus on "how a chance letter to the BBC when working as a builder's labourer lead to him becoming the most iconic Doctor Who".

That's just what I was thinking. Who on Earth could play Tom Baker? He's such a one-off.
They would need to cast someone to play Lis in 1974 even if she was still with us.
If produced, it will probably be heading to a screen, even if it a computer screen - or nobody will ever be able to see it.
no no no., way too old. Nice idea but Tom is too unique...

If this guy was a Tom Baker impersonator in the 70's that means he's 60/70 now?? Is he really going to be that convincing as a 40 year old Tom?
I have reservations about this.
