How Long For Initial Charge?

I just bought a new Sony Ericsson K800i and have started to charge it. The manual says 2.5 hours to charge, but I think this is for normal charges, it does not say how long it should be charged for initially. How long is usually a good length of time? Thanks.

    It's only been charging for 1h 45m and is saying Fully Charged already. Surely this can't be it fully charged already?

    Just did mine for a couple of hours and its not caused any problems.

    Batteries don't need the 16-20hours like they used to nowadays.;)

    I agree with Finglonga - the days of "Initial Charge for a New handset must be at least 16 hours or it's f*cked" are long gone...

    (I still like to let my new ones has 2 or 3 uniterrupted hours for the first charge, mind :))
