    Same here - got a few punctures from knife points in the flooring! Arthritis in my hands doesn't help.

    Only rules I stick to really strictly are 'no dogs in the rats' room', 'no running out of doors, front or back' and 'must leave kitchen when told'.

    I do not allow her to bark excessively or chew/claw the paintwork as this is a rented flat :)

    I am not fussed about the bed and furniture, so long as she moves when asked tbh.

    My mum and dads 5 dogs have the run of the house only downstairs... they go upstairs when its bedtime... the only reason they are allowed upstairs during the day is for Bath time and its a struggle to get them upstairs

    Luckily mine go up and down stairs easily as we are in a flat so they would be stuck if they didn't like stairs !
