I don't expect her to come stone cold last -- even with that performance -- I am expecting a charge towards the middle at the very least -- but with that performance that's where it may well be halted -- I'd love to be wrong that the jury rehearsal was below par on a vocal level but I'm not going to sugar coat it or that the vocals don't matter for a song that needs Bonnie's voice to perform in order to be taken notice of...:)
As long as there are no blatant cringe-worthy bum notes (which there haven't been so far), most people will be focussing on her voice instead of vocal quality, and that'll be true even if she delivered a 100% note perfect performance.
And you can't accuse me of ironing over any of the recent UK performances!
I believe Blue were arrogant and did not believe they needed to bother practising and rehearsing. Whereas in fact they were among the weaker vocalists and stage performers. So a song that was good enough to be in the top3 was let down. With Bonnie, my fear is that her voice is fabulous for a recording artist, but, in a live show and at 61,she has neither range or power. Singers from, for example, Russia and Moldova will blow her out of the water. But Believe in Me is a very good song.
Paddy O'Connell said on Irish radio this week that Blue were completely shocked when they realised how huge Eurovision was (after they arrived in Dusseldorf). They fell into the trap of believing the British media propaganda of it being a cheesy and naff event and that they only had to show up to do well in it.
Really worried about Ryan now. I don't want to see Ireland in right hand side of the scoreboard. Was he really that bad?
Last night? Not at all : those two clowns on the live stream trashed his performance (just as they did with Bonnie) and said he looked "terrified" but Ryan himself said on Twitter he felt fantastic on stage and was delighted with his jury final performance - seems he went big in the arena too.

I think only one from blue -duncan ? - had any reliable stage craft or vocal ability. I think the others may have had major stage fright, but I do think something technical beyond their control may have happened with the sound as it sounded muffled. When I saw them premiere the song on Graham norton -in a small studio -it sounded great and the guy who sang the high vocals was on point. I thought it could win!

It was always going to be a big ask. "I Can" is a very hard song to sing as it features harmonies throughout and these guys had been disbanded for eight years.....there was always the danger of it unravelling at ESC.
I was just watching the jury rehearsal for Bonnie. Although it's not her best vocally (and also we couldn't hear it perfectly) I always find me really enjoying her on stage. I don't know why, but I always get this really good feeling when the platform is raised. It's perfect for her! Also the crowd reaction was fantastic. I hope they scored her well LOL Everytime she's reaching for the notes during the "believe in mee-ee-yeah" I find myself doing the "Jessie J hand gesture" that she does in The Voice when she's wanting people to hit the note or give more power
I see she's sporting the no makeup (with hair rollers to boot) look again, which she's been doing in most dress rehearsals from what I hear And the dress is, hmm, interesting

Oh I guessed her hair + make up wasn't done (although it does somehow suit the rest of the look at the moment ), but I expect the outfit to be unchanged in the final.
Having heard the other videos of Bonnie's performance I'm a little bit more encouraged, for whatever reason it didn't sound good on that feed last night, certainly compared to Robin. I'm not expecting anything spectacular but as long as it's not a disaster and it finishes mid-table I'd be happy with that.

I am going to say the UK will win with 442 points!
Clips from the some of the Jury final performances from one of the seated positions - Denmark's glitter goes nowhere near the stage, Bonnies bracelets look really good (but not as good as Russia's)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqLmbsFKBDE I'm not sure if it's been posted, so pardon if it has But it's the first time I've seen a rehearsal video of Bonnie where the camera is right infront of the platform as it raises. For me , this is the best she's sounded

Just been listening to the escinsight commentary, and apparently in the jury rehearsal last night, they put the ad break between songs 12 and 13 (i.e. before Netherlands!), instead of between 13 and 14 (halfway through the contest).
My view of Christer "evil toad" Bjorkman isn't going to improve any time soon!
I thought it was Lynda Wiodruff as apprised to a break?
Yes, it is, but it's also the point where ad-supported TV networks insert the break. Either way, it's the point where lots of people will probably make their drink or go to the loo and not make it back in time to see the next performance...

WTF? And I thought the dress on Thursday was bad?!
That woman From Gypsy weddings has been doing these dresses for her?
That black n gold number the other night was just...:eek:
all that was missing some fairy lights around the front.

I think she's been taking tips from the Serbian costume designer.
I saw that head shot of the rollers/no make up look in the paper earlier.
Has she raided Krista's wardrobe?

But then I am on my fourth pint of lager!
The exactly same dress, how come?

and what he said on Bonnie
"Bonnie started off with a very dud note- but built, and had the crowd chanting her name by the end. "
Norway killed it in a good way last night
I hope it's not just me, but I think Bonnie sounds great there. The crowd went crazy for the platform
