Neighbours doesn't need an omnibus, it already gets 5+24 repeats at the weekend, and they're not going to disrupt the night schedule for a 9.30pm episode of Neighbours. Putting the 5* repeat back to 7 rather than immediately after it finishes on Channel5 would make sense though, then it has an 8pm viewing option on 5*+1.
Neighbours has always had a lunchtime and tea time slot even back in the bbc days.

I think it would suffer if in direct competition with the British soaps and there isn't a slot available in Prime Time which doesn't clash with one of them and no way would their air it after 9pm.
People that are bothered enough just record it, that's what I did for years from when I finished College and started work in 1990.

It was more exciting than the news and adverts and cheap promos. Shame the Channel 5 news announcer couldn't do this.
