Two standout singles... complete oppositie sounding songs but equally great and not to forget to mention two great music videos as well.
Toxic is a terrific catchy pop record that has many different sounds and influences all packed into one song... pure pop prefection! Whereas, Everytime is a beautiful heartfelt ballad that is truly haunting and emotional..... Britney had her vulnerable best.
Inspired by a comment I just read in the Stooshe - Slip thread, I wondered what two consecutively-released singles by any band or artist, that you can remember, is your favourite combination?
For me, the one that immediately springs to mind is Madonna's 'Sorry' and then 'Get Together' from Confessions on a Dancefloor, but I'm sure there are many more combinations!
I think this could make a change to threads on albums where artists have released singles in a poor order, as well - to serve as a counterpoint to that.
Thoughts?
PS. Sorry in advance if the phrasing of the question's a bit weird. I hope it makes sense :P
YEAH!! It was one masterstroke after the next...epic...just wished the videos followed suit but alas...EPIC!
So yeah with that...following suit with one massive wow song after next...

Hung Up - Sorry - get Together (3)
Erotica - Deeper & Deeper - Bad girl (3)
Frozen -Ray Of Light (2)
Christina Aguilera
Dirrty - Beautiful - Fighter - Can't Hold us Down
Four totally different sounding singles that showcased just how diverse an artist she could be in terms of sound & visual! A stomping lead single, a unique pop ballad, an epic rock anthem & a cool hip-hop jam! I think you'd be had pressed to find a set of singles so different from one artist!
Plus they all have amazing music videos!
Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way, Don't Stop and Dreams (Rumours album) and Big Love, Seven Wonders, Little Lies and Everywhere (Tango In The Night album)
