The bad thing is that this Grace with the painted on freckles has only been brought into it to make us see that Faye isn't all bad when she is. They have just brought someone in who is completely evil and takes brattishness to the next level.

This still does not change the fact that Faye is an annoying brat and it insults the viewers intelligence to bring in a worse child to make us warm to the other.

Why is it necessary to keep characters in a soap when they just don't work. The Faye kid cannot act and will never be liked, not even in a love to hate way, so why not just get rid instead of trying to ram it down our throats with the, aw look she's alright really, when she isn't.

It is time to remove dead wood out of this soap once and for all. Sophie, Faye, Eileen, Julie for starters

    Good Corrie scenes !!!!

OOOh I thought CS was really good tonight. It had humourous bits ...the 'girls' in the Rovers, it had a bit of unpleasantness...Grace.. and Nick and leanne had me in tears at the end. It was a lovely scene. I hope they stay stuck together now.

I think the two episodes tonight were the best in quite awhile..

faye - 'im a bit tired'

anna - 'why dont you call grace for a natter?'

wouldn't a better response be 'well go and have a bath and go to bed'? is it me?

By 'eck MsWilder, we needed that warning about Faye and Grace  (great start to the thread though!)

The "old Nick" spent all his money on moisturiser, according to Kylie. That'll be Adam Rickett, I presume...

    LOL!!!!

    Exactly!

    *slaps Anna repeatedly*

Too much of this protecting the kiddie, sometimes they need to know the truth too.
Beelzebub Barlow, Fayetan and Graceless in the same episode - has Corrie got an advertising deal going with Durex?:D

    :D Brilliant!
    Sandra Bee wrote: »
That's right, Leanne. Don't worry about Nick's brain damage. How selfish of him to frighten Simon and the rest.

    Leanne is unbearable at times.
Really like the actress and think she does a cracking job but I sometimes struggle with Leanne.
Or just tell the vile little brat that if he wanted to go to the party that much, to get off his sorry good for nothing arse and walk that long distance across the street

Another classic but so true! Just stand at your door and watch him go to Anna's but wait until he's actually let in, it's not rocket science!
    Sylar11 wrote: »
Hayley has terminal cancer. Jenna, the former nurse, thought that she could be given the all-clear.

    Okay.

Well, physio but I know what you mean. There's no doubting she's a better character now they've separated her from whiney Sophie but I don't think they've quite quite sorted out her characterisation yet. The other day she was quite ignorant laughing at Liz (or the thought of her dad and Liz being caught together but if Liz hadn't mistaken it for crying she could have easily thought she was laughing at her) and now they've got her saying the most stupid thing EVER for, like your rightly say, a health professional to say! Is she intelligent or not? They don't seem to have put much effort into her characterisation other than being a daughter for Lloyd and girlfriend for Sophie but who is she?

I'm rambling, I'll shut up. I know what I mean but can't seem to explain myself tonight :o
    Go Sally!!!

    Slap GRACE THE BRAT.

For once I really liked Sally in this episode. She's really got the measure of that noGrace creature.
    rhumble wrote: »
    WTF is going on

who is writing for these vile children

There's a lot of bitching and backbiting going on in the show in general.
I hope Anna has to admit Sally was right sooner rather than later.

Only trouble is I can't see Anna admitting anything can you? She's a harridan.

You know, I don't think she even thanked Sally tonight for scrubbing the drink off her carpet and then later criticised her washing up skills! Now I know Sally isn't perfect with her digs about doing things well on a budget and cheaper carpets but Anna is a truly awful woman who I really think TPTB expect us to like
    Sandra Bee wrote: »
I don't think Nick's brain is damaged, I think he feels just like we do about Gail, Faye etc. Ha ha!!

    LOL! You could be right!
Ha ha ha Nick has his summary of Gail spot on.

Seriously though, Nick has had a serious head trauma yet it seems there has been no support for him or the family from health services since he was discharged from hospital?? Also sick of Leanne acting like Nick is deliberately being difficult.

Gail's sons really give her some stick when they're angry or upset though don't they? Both have a habit (at least nowadays) of taking things out on here. For once I actually felt a bit sorry for Gail tonight but yes, Nick's summary of her (especially with the cup!) was spot on :D
Child actors - Italia Conti has a lot to answer for!

    Doesn't it just.
Up next a Simon Barlow getting bullied at school storyline....

Well they have to do something to make us feel sorry for him.
    Deidre missing Ken

Deirdre was once again bloody brilliant :D
    Sandra Bee wrote: »

Agreed. Someone is giving her it straight without being bitchy, nasty or shouty was just what she needed.

I think that Faye is realising that she has been naughty and feels a bit guilty.

Really? I thought it was because she knows noGrace has it in for Simon, is going to start bullying him and feels uncomfortable about it?

On a purely shallow note Liz looks so much better with her hair up.

I'm glad someone (Gloria) has made Leanne face her part in what happened on Christmas Day. That said I hate the way the Prices' have moved in to manage the Bistro. I bet they'll think they have a right to stay when Nick recovers. It is a smae nobody has had the same chat with Kylie - that it wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't been with her husband's brother.

So, Tina gossips about her current employers to her former employers and she is 'in the inner circle'. I'll let people draw their own conclusions as to my view on that.

Grace is a little monster and it is not often I say this but poor Simon.

BIB: Doesn't she just? Weirdly it makes her look younger because she's not trying to look young - if that makes sense? She doesn't look like mutton dressed as lamb is what I mean I suppose.

And yes, it is a shame that no one has had the same chat with Kylie who seems to have gotten off scott free with absolutely everyone! (apart from Gail giving her grief when she first found out.)

Did you really expect anything else from Tina? Odious girl. Liz deserves more loyalty after the floor shows that Tina's been putting on there lately AND all the time off she's given her.

I rather enjoyed it too, (apart from the awful Grace).

I was hoping Liz, Deirdre and Eileen would become mates as soon as I heard Liz was coming back. They make me laugh together and Eileen is slowly getting back to her enjoyable self now that TinyFireman is out of the picture.

I also love any scene featuring any of the Platts and Sally, so it was all good for me.

Glad it wasn't just me that enjoyed those scenes! They really made me laugh and were a bit of light relief amongst all the horrible kid stuff.

Agree with all of this. I too think TPTB knew that Simon and Faye weren't going down too well with some (lots of?) viewers so have brought someone even worse in so that when noGrace finally leaves we'll think they're OK. Won't work with me I'm afraid.

    Love drunken Deirdre!

I also laughed when she asked if Liz could play some classical music to remind her of Ken (who at least has been mentioned in this episode.) Didn't Liz quip to Eileen that she wasn't playing 'Light my fire' either, LOL!

Was hoping for a re-enactment of the Poirot episode Halloween Party, with someone (Nick? Anna? Sally?) drowning Grace in the apple-bobbing bowl, but c'est la vie. :D

Well done to Liz, Deirdre and Eileen for some old style Corrie humour tonight - esp. Liz & Deirdre. I can't imagine the younger women like Tracyluv, Tina & Michelle doing the same . They are too arsey-faced, aggressive and probably not good enough actresses to carry it off.

Yes, totally agree. I love the 3 witches together and they really seemed to be enjoying it too as they clutched their bottle 'mikes', belting out 'Sisters' so 'tunefully'. :D

I hope we get more of them together. I also loved Sally and Gail together when Gail had to move in with Sal for a while. Wish they got more 'friends' time too.
