Leeds fans in being vile scummy c***s shocker.

I doubt there was a single functioning brain cell in that away end.

As a Leeds United fan who was actually in that away end, I could easily take offence to that comment. :p

But yeah, no excuse for what that idiot did. Hope he's identified and prosecuted.

    From his facebook:

    Reply:

Aaron Cawley: Enjoy prison been there done that conspiracy to commit fraud charge coming up so na na save it

He wrote that as a reply to a comment that he is going to prison for assaulting Kirkland. He appears to be an utterly repugnant person.

Getting in the keepers face and giving him a bit of a slap? Tony Pulis will be straight on the phone to him.

Aaron Cawley is showing off on Facebook now as he says Chris Kirkland doesn't want to take any further police action, Cawley really is coming across as a first class t**t.

The only words that can describe this incident are "f-ing disgraceful". Leeds should be deducted points, at the very least.

Kirkland might not want to take any action (not sure I entirely believe that) but he will still receive some sort of action from the police.

This is going to be all over the back pages of the papers tomorrow and the authorities will be forced to take some kind of action against Aaron Cawley.

Good question, how DID he manage to get in

More importantly, how did he get out? Surely as soon as something like this happens, the police get on the radios and the stadium goes into lockdown and the exits shut until the video can be reviewed and one by one, people are let out until the criminal is found. Basic policing.

Hope the violent little shit is hunted down and doesn't see the outside of a prison cell for the next 20 years.

Doesn't matter what Chris Kirkland wants. If the police and the CPS view it as assault, they will prosecute Crawley. And the public are putting immense pressure on them for that to happen. He will be behind bars soon. Make no mistake.

He said he enjoys jail and the most he'll get is about 3-6 months so not much punishment there.

Well if he enjoys it, just give him 40 years. He'll be happy as Larry and so will the inmates who will rip him a new one. Doubles all round! :D

2 questions - why does the steward look like he is 12 years old and secondly, why is he doing nothing but watching ?

In the press this week we have heard how Serbia is 30 years behind the UK in its attitudes - and yet in 2012 we still have fans running on to our own pitches assaulting players.

The UK cannot take the moral high ground over its fan behaviour.

Anyway, this thug will hopefully soon be getting a knock on the door and carted off to jail.

One incident in thousands of matches compared to constant racism anytime any club goes to Serbia.

Do grounds need redesigning to deter this, not talking the old fences but ones like they use at Wembley.

No need for fences. Especially at Hillsborough.

so if stewards cannot cope with this, whats the point in them?

I'm not entirely sure the police would have waded into the middle of a few thousand angry Leeds fans.

Not what he said is it?

Plus he'd just endured 90 minutes of paedophile chants followed by his GK being assaulted. Perhaps he was a little wound up eh?

I watched a couple of the youtube clips and the culprit has been named - plenty of still images from DM: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2220383/Chris-Kirkland-attacked-fan-Sheffield-Wednesday-v-Leeds-derby.html

he's not a Leeds fan it's led to believe or a football too for that matter. Just as well these people are stopped-searched at the turnstiles otherwise there could have been something a lot more serious.

It's an unprovoked attack and Kirkland is a decent professional that clearly has risen above this.

Correct, a lot of leeds fans are nice kind people but that yob ,tars you lot with the same brush,
Imo, Leeds are dirty and you can only blame idiots like him for people not liking leeds.
I was walking out through leeds fans after our cup game at Elland rd and expected to get something, but didn't...probably because we lost.

Is it just me or did it seem there weren't many police around?

considering this was a local derby and the reputation of Leeds fans it's surprising at just how few police there seemed to be at the Leeds end. It does seem staggering that this thug was able to run onto the pitch thump Kirkland and run across the penalty area back into the crowd and was not challanged by a single policemen or steward.

If you just heard of this incident, but not told which teams were involved, Leeds would be high on the list of suspects. Any team that has Warnock, Brown, and the sewer rat on its books will attract this mentality.
The words I suspect to see in the next day or so will be 'arrested and bailed', followed by a lot of swaggering. The prosecution should cite the boat race incident, and let us see it is not 'them and us'.
